The R15 engine is an enlarged version of a stepturu moped engine that is sold in Indonesia called T135. Its a SOHC, undersquare engine with 10.4 compression and makes 17 bhp at 8500 rpm with EFI. Its more modern than anything sold in India, but still not a pure racing engine like the CBR150, let alone the CRF150.

Didn't you say that there was a launch confirmation in some newspaper. Times? Please elaborate more
There was no launch date but yes they mentioned about its launch in India. that article was on the full page by Zigwheels.com, infact the whole section was of Zigwheels.com and they also mentioned about the race day in chennai.

The CBR150 produces 18.9ps@10500rpm.
Has the biggest valve size is business over the others like the Suzuki FXR150 and the Yamaha T135/R15. Its a higher revving engine and a more focussed performer.
The R15 is way behind the CBR150 in terms of technology used.
The CBR150 can be tuned to great levels. That engine has a lot of potential.
In the stock trim, the FXR150 and CBR150 are equally fast and the Vixion/R15 is the slowest fellow. Even the Suzuki Step-thru, badged Suzuki Raider 150R is faster than our great R15.

Motorbeam reports the OTR in mumbai to be 1.34 lakhs, now that's a premium for a 150cc sports category.

Re: Honda CBR 150R coming to India. EDIT : Confirmed for 2012 March end

The On road price here in Delhi NCR is estimated to be around 1.25-1.30 lacs, its surely on the higher side even for a premium 150 as it's main competitor R15 V2.0 retails at a lower price, has sharper looks, the fit finish is top notch etc. Apart from this one has the option of picking up a 200cc KTM duke.

Re: Honda CBR 150R coming to India. EDIT : Confirmed for 2012 March end

If the new naked Pulsar would be 1 lak OTR and the semi faired version around 1.10; Honda is going to have a slightly hard time with its comparatively premium pricing. 20 % above Pulsar pricing which is reasonably more powerful is not healthy.

Re: Honda CBR 150R coming to India. EDIT : Confirmed for 2012 March end

Why is Honda so greedy ?. Why they know the other competitors who charge less and have good products ,how do they think customers will go in for their bike ? . The pricing should have been around 1 lakh or less mark , they would gained in volumes .

Re: Honda CBR 150R coming to India. EDIT : Confirmed for 2012 March end

Honda has always priced 10-20% higher than competetiors so its expected.

Pricing is competetive against the R1 but both Yamaha and Honda are going to be affected by the KTM/Pulsar dual attack

Re: Honda CBR 150R coming to India. EDIT : Confirmed for 2012 March end

The CBR150 costs around 10k more than the R-15 , IMHO , the R-15 will remain more popular because it looks way better. Can't comment on the handling out of experience, but I have read from the race reports that the R-15 is a better handler too.
From the specs, it makes 17.58bhp , vs the R-15's 17.67bhp ; practically this is of little advantage. Torque is down , 12.6Nm vs the R-15's 15Nm , so the R-15 is probably not the worst in rideability terms now

At least the Honda has a 60/55 headlamp and a bigger battery. The ad is lame, IMO. Using Stoner for this, is injustice ! An ad for a 150cc single cylinder with the sound of an inline 4 !
