It was never an "Issue", it was only specific to his bike coz of his mechanic and it was a "blunder". The bike was sold only a about 2 months ago. RTR was sponsored to him about 6 months ago.
That apache was running flawless for over 3 months in full race-trim and he put 2 trackdays and one ride to CBE with his wife for the MRF challenge.

The bike is with Zen Motors to bring the stock to good condition. Will be taking delivery tomorrow.

Fitting disc brake on the bike will cost 9k. As per the mechanic, it needs more replacement than the lower fork arm.

I want to change the rear shocks to gas shocks. What do you guys recommend?

Zen motors would not do modification to engine. I need to find someone else for the same.

Zen does nothing themselves on 4-strokes when it comes to performance mods. Whom did u talk to at Zen?

Sankar reminded me that I have not updated you guys on what has happened with the bike.

The bike came back from Zen in a much better condition. But it is no where close to the initial refinement and power. I have not made any modifications as I was busy and could not devote any time for that.

I plan to give the bike to Castrol Bike Zone in Outer Ring Road this weekend:
1. Decarbonization
2. Clean Carburettor
3. Change oil to Castrol Power Racing

Please let me know if I could do anything more to improve the rideability.

Ride comfort is very important for me as my commute has increased. Which is the best shock absorber I can fit for Fiero? I read that someone had to go back to normal shocks from disc as the chain guard of Fiero was hitting the shock over bumps.

I am also looking for a good mechanic in south bangalore, preferably around marthahalli. It is difficult to go to Zen because of the distance from Marthahalli.

These guys were very good in the initial days. Whenever I give my Fiero to them it will come back in terrific shape. But sadly now-a-days it is not the case.

There was guy called Mohammed who used to manage things there. But I have not seen him for quite a while now.

Do let me know if your quest for a good mechanic near Marthahalli ends, I am also searching

Thanks. I will let you know when I find a good place. The only decent workshop I could find was Castrol Bike Zone.

I got the bike back from Castrol Bike Zone. I went for gold service. The engine revs freely and the refinement is good.

Castrol Bike Zone does only manual decarbonization, so I did not opt for that. I doubt whether it would be manual harassment. I need to get the decarbonization done as part of the next service.

Changed the engine oil to Castrol Power1 4T. They do not stock Castrol Power1 Racing Synthetic.

Changed the rear shock absorber. They did not have Gabriel and have put Escorts shock absorber. The ride is fine with the soft setting, but I cannot engage the center stand as there is no gap with the rear fat tyre. Service advisor propose to weld a small piece below the center stand to use it. Any ideas?

Though the clutch plate was replaced and clutch was overhauled by Tristar in the last service, it had to be overhauled again.

I need to upgrade the headlamp to 100/90 or HID. How to go about it and where can I get the same in bangalore?

Bill Breakup:
Engine Oil P1: 298
Gold Service: 395
Rear Shock: 1093
Oil Filter: 28
Clutch O/H: 150
Fork O/H: 150
Fork Oil: 96
Oil Filter: 28
Manifold Rubber: 76
Clutch Cover packing: 35
Rear shock replacement: 50

Total Bill Amount: 2690

I am happy as I went there without much expectation.

The bike is in good condition now. I need to plan and execute the mods step by step.

I am also thinking about getting another bike (Karizma or R15) to commute to office. My heart says to wait for Ninja. But how long?

Hi Shameel, glad that the bike came out well! If you are going for a second bike i'd say don't invest in a 100/90 kit or the HID. If you want a 100/90 kit get it done at Ruby Electricals. 100/90 kit would be less headache with more than enough light than a HID kit on a bike that doesn't have default DC headlamp.

Wait a bit more for the Ninja

Btw, anyone know where in Blore i can buy Power 1 racing?

The bike is in good condition now. I ripped it yesterday and felt like back to college days. The torque delivery in Fiero is great!!

I am going to order a free flow exhaust (header to end can) from automech. I do not want it to be loud. My understanding is that there are no specific header specifications for bike, unlike car where we can go for 4x2x1 or 4x1 depending on the requirement. Anything else I need to consider?

I also want to change the rim to 5 spoke alloy wheels. Any recommendations?

I have a Suzuki Fiero 2001 model which has run around 30,000 kms. I was using it during my college days and now it has been neglected for a while.

I do want to restore to the original condition. I had fitted a wider rear tyre (from the Kawasaki Eliminator, 100/90 R 13, I'm not sure abt the size though) back in 2003 which I feel has some what made the engine rough. I want to get the bike back into stock condition now. I have the same issues which PatienceWins has stated at the start of the thread.

The work which I have to get done

1. Change the rear tyre to the stock tyre (I still have the stock tyre & rim)
2. Change rear shock absorbers - Can I go for gas shocks or should I stick to the regular ones?
3. I need to add a new tail piece -I had cut off the old one (is it available, the original tailpiece?)
4. Change Headlights (any suggestions? was using stock till now)
5. A new battery
6. Regular service (oil change, carb cleaning etc etc)

These are some changes I need to do.

Can you guys give a ball park figure as to how much it may cost for all these repairs?

Also please suggest a good workshop where I can get these done? I stay in Basaceshwaranagar.

I see lot of guys here talk about Zen motors. Where exactly is Zen motors in Bull temple road?

Even I tried Castrol Bike Zone (Basaveshwaranagar) a few times earlier, but was not happy with service there.

Thanks in advance

Hello all,
can anyone please guide what price i can expect for my 2000 Suzuki Fiero? It was with my uncle previously and after his demise recently, i got it transferd to my name.
The odometer read around 23000 when i brought it to Bangalore from Mysore. The bike is in very good condition as far i can assess.
