Royal Enfield Classic 350 / 500 - Now on Sale-20112009262.jpg

I am speechless. The owner was going for alloys as well.

Awww... Why did he have to go and kill the bike?

:P

Did you ask him why he disliked the more comfortable seat?

When I looked at him I knew I was no match for him. He was one of those typical dessi lads.

Looking at the seat, read with out alloys its best to leave him where he is.

Why ?

I don't think that is an issue.
On my tb it takes me less than 10 mins to get the tire out.
I get the bike on the main stand and then lean it on the side stand.
Slide the tire out from underneath.

Bad tube, 3 punctures in 2 weeks. Before I replaced the tube became an expert in getting the tire out.

If anything the curved silencer will make it easier.

To each his own, boss, what do you know, he might actually have found the 'old' seat more comfy eventhough most of us find the ample single seat to be better.

Imran, Thanks for the tip.

Perhaps the thump improves with the up-swept exhaust, but isn't a loud thump irritating on long rides?

:P

Hmmm just as expected.

Will have to try to see if the seat is not good. I guess it'll have a lot to do with a person's size and butt style. :P

You used to ride a ZMA, how would you rate the 500 EFI's pickup and top end grunt v/s the ZMA?

I too think the electra seat will be better for touring. The single seat may get too tough on the back. Also, if we have a pillon, then he/she may not be comfortable with the stock rear seat. Also, not sure if the travel bags can be loaded properly with the split seats, i guess thats something our tourers can comment on.

The bike doesnt look bad with the electra seat, but definately alloys will not appeal me

I feel this looks much better and of more utility as it ages than the stock look but yes the alloys will spoil the classic.

nothing beats the stock look of the C500 especially with the single seat but utility wise i guess the electra seat would work. But frm my perspective i wouldnt like to change anything about the C500!

electra seat, alloy wheels? why not fit 19" wheel too and conver it to an electra?

the beauty of the classic lies in its low stance, single seat, upswept exhaust. taking all this away means thats its an electra with an uce engine.

we can call it this mish-mash bike the "ucetra" and not the classic.
