I am a P150 user since June 2005 and have done only 15K kms until now and absolutely love the performance of the bike. I am giving a quick + and - of the bike, IMO

(+)
Very good pick-up
Very good braking, sometimes its too quick, need to really understand the usage of the engine braking to be comfortable
Mileage was initially 52kmpl on high rev driving and now it has dropped to 45kmpl

(-)
During quick gear changes, i find most times the gear slips, its irritating but not really if you get used to it
Engine is quite harsh at high revs, the coarseness can be felt and by the way the engine howls.

If your above average height then go for a P180 ( FE could be around 45 initially and will drop to 40kmpl later on)

If your short, then RTR 160 Fi is the bike for you.

All other bikes in that segment like Unicorn,Hunk,CBZ etc look sedate and not really performance oriented type of a bike. so depending on your style or riding and needs, choose your machine

Riding a p180 for 3 years. Handling is quite ok . The engine is irritating .vibrations and noise . need to get it serviced / oil changed every 2500 kms .Then for next 1000kms it will be good .Braking is bad. Now my rear brakes dont work .I suspect the lining of wheel hub is gone.May need to replace the wheel.I feel a honda is way better.
I wanted to get the bike replaced ...
Mmm now i know why the marketing manager at bajaj told me you are going to use it only for 4 years :-) lol.

LOL Joel. For a second, I thought it was his spurned ex-boyfriend

Its not that bad a headache. He needs a good service center (like AutoService) or some jugaad with Bagga. or he can kiss warranty goodbye and come to a good local mechanic

Its not about a service centre or anything. The damn engine is just not the right thing. The package is nothing but a lump of metal sold for 70k.
Thats why I said, the motorcycle scene is pretty bad and sad. People cant judge good and bad bikes. Sad but true.

Joel,
Sure the engine sucks, so do the cycle parts! But people seem to be in love with it!
I could understand it earlier on when there were very few options, but now??
To each his own!
Remember, spare parts are cheap for the pulsars and easily available, and you will get plenty of oppurtunities to change them!
But have to admit, it was the cheapest, fun filled bike to run around in college days!

hey! i am glad you selected the pulsar mate! the engine might not be well refined as much as the hondas or others but there is a different charm of riding a pulsar. i am in total love with my bike for so long now.somehow unicorn never appealed me because of its uncle type riding posture(high handlebars).apache is too small for us.might be a good buy but you need to select your ride as per your own comfort.pulsar has the blend of all. as far as FE goes, i still get 55 odd kms frm my 2004 dtsi.and i dont have much trouble with the bike either.i might get a biggy soon but as of now i am quite happy with my ride. no issues with the engine atleast.180 is definitely better than the 150. you got yourself a good bike in my opinion.different people have different things to say eh?
