I have decided to buy a Karizma and went to the Hero Honda showroom in Hadapsar yesterday. The price on road is 82339 for the normal alloys one. I tried bargaining for festival discounts or free accessories but they are not offering any such options.

What I want to know is how to squeeze in some discount on MRP or some freebees, if possible at all. I have to buy the bike anyway, but with bells and whistles, I will be merrier than a mere mortal. How to secure the same?

So far I haven't seen any bike maker giving any cash discounts on any bike i.e. unless its a well published one.

There may be some scratch cards & or gift offers but no cash discounts ever.

I know Sankar was just wondering what accessories given2fly is expecting. That ways almost all of the bikes have no accessories as such. Everything is pretty much standard.

When I purchased my Honda Dio back in 2005, I had to purchase the number plate as an accessory! :-O

Praful I was specifically talking about Bikes

But now that you remind me almost everything(read side guards, Number plate, Stepney etc etc) on a Honda scooter is an accessory they are such big rip-offs in this regard

I think I was referring to those sari guards, leg guards, free insurance schemes that do come up during these high sales times. I am not trying to show up as a free bee rider, but I know that in older days, they did use to offer free bees (even RVM when they were not a standard accessory).

Anyway, if there is no bargaining involved in bike purchases like it can be done in case of cars, we can close it then after a couple of days.

Well I bought a bike recently but I didn't get any discounts as such I didn't haggle much either.
I remember some dealership where giving petrol as gift, but that was before the hike of course.

Well guys in blr when ppl in my hostel were buying pulsars they could squeeze out quite a bit as freebies. The reason they gave was that the same person would accompany them always and the freebies were this
1) 5lts petrol
2) Seat cover as the standard ones if torn had to be replaced
3) teflon coating. I knew 3 bikes which did get this.

Well it all depends on the way you haggle and i believe you can squeeze atleast something out of them

@given2fly: Sari guard & RVMS are now standard accessory.

Discounts\freebies are given during low sales period. Also if there is fierce competition then showrooms may roll out freebies but no discount.

I got accessories worth Rs. 600 in 1996 when I had purchased my bike. Try bargaining !

yes u an get discount on new cars or bikes , the only thing is that you have to use your contacts if you have any good contact with dealer or you have contact in police or administration field then you can make a call to dealer through the person ,, then the dealer will discount for you,.
my brother has done this thing with his new Santro recently....he got a discount of around 20000-25000 Rs with accessories
