Did not get a chance to ride one yet..
The ride is very soft, after first service it became super soft. What really missing is the beat. RE is failed to manage the rhythm. The engine noise is not like the older RE bikes - Its sounds like a diesel Bullet.

However, I hope the technology advancement might drag more bikers towards RE, sooner the regular problems may not exist.

Hmmm.. But the problems is what we love mate. Thats what keeps us more and more glued to this awesome piece of engineering.

Hey Ram, nope, no issues. Been riding this setup for 2 years now. recently put the forged piston, so I'm running in again. Let see how she performs after that.

Hey Gordon, I've been here since a very long time , just not too active.

I own a 2003 TBird. Will post pix later.
The funny thing is that these days I feel like possessing an old bullet (350 or 500) with all its quirks intact, instead of the TBird.

:-o

Hi Hurrycane,
Even I am planning to buy an Cast Iron Electra 5S, in January 09 but I was sceptical about the C.I Electra 5S being phased out.

So, I sent an Email to the folks at the customer service in Royal Enfield to clarify matters.

They replied promptly saying that the Electra 5S will definitely be in production till March 2009.

They also said that the future course of action regarding the Cast Iron Electras isn't finalised for the moment.

So, I think it would be better if your could buy the Electra before the March of 2009.

Cheers,
Jay
