I am wondering what is the thing which attracts this pathetic moped to live in tamil nadu still? In kerala and all ,sighting a moped is very rare. While in Coimbatore ,I remember school kids to old age paatti's riding this puny 2-stroker which sounds like !@$% and pollutes too.not to say ,the dangerous way the people travel with loads of luggages on this thing.if it was for a 4 stroke motorcycle this apathy wont come.also ,still tvs moped are selling in TN!

My first ride was a Narmada Prince 150cc scooter, was belong to my uncle. I learnt riding and got proficiency on my dad's 1960's Lambretta 150 Li serise II, the scooter is still with my dad. I enjoyed my college days riding my dad's 1985 Bajaj Super and the Lambretta. That time my little town had only 3 Lambrettas and people around was some time amazed to see a young chap riding a red and white colour beautiful Lambretta. Then in 1995 my dad gifted me a beautiful beast, the 'Suzuki SHOGUN'. It’s a cult bike, 108 cc engine pumping 14 bhp raw power was a odd thing in those days when the market was crowded with 100 cc econo-misers (except obviously RX100). When I moved to Mumbai, I bought the Shogun with me. Enjoyed it till last December when I sold my lovely Shogun to my driver. Posting photos of the bike was taken just before selling the bike. I’ll always miss my bike.

@deepclutch : quite simple, really...folks in TN are able to identify with the XL Super as a low cost, peppy, fuel efficient and maintainence free alternative to a bicycle with excellent lugging capacity as well...I think you're having an old rattled TVS 50 in mind...the XL Super is quite good really. And hey...it does come clear on emission norms as well !

...and whats it with you & TN ? I recollect some folks not reacting too well to your posts on TN on another thread and now this one

anyways, all this including your comments are completely OT so lets close this here.

It was a HH CD100SS that I learnt biking on. This happened when my when my dad wanted to sell his bike and at the same time I turned 18. So, I learnt on that bike and we disposed it off.

It was an original red roadking which was not being used by my uncle & I had the keys for myself.. I was young, but not crazily mad, for driving it & it was taken back after some months & sold off.. It used to make quite a few heads turn (you understand whose heads )..

I still dream of it. A mint condition roadking, in all its glory. I'll have it someday.

BTW, I still have my KB RTZ 100 (original bike) in perfect running condition. This was the bike which my dad bought me when I went to college & had my legal license to ride a bike This is also a gem of a bike (but nothing like a roadking).

Thanks for the compliment. I just sold the bike @ 5000/-, till last day I treated this baby with utmost care. I have very good memories of my first bike. I prefer Shogun over todays powerful 4-strokes any time, because of the BOSS's raw power. It's 108 cc engine pumps out 14 bhp power, which is still better than todays standard. Past 4500 rpm it rocks, and can happily cross 8000 rpm with out any hassel. I loved its exhaust note, its like music to my ears. I kissed the mother earth twice when riding Shogun, but have not got a single scratch on her except broken visor. The visor presently there is not original, as I also couldnot able to locate one in Mumbai.

Your driver must be quite a lucky chap. The bike looks awesome, at least in the photos.
