Mate,
Contact Indrojit Sircar, he must be having a brand new Jikov Carburettor. You might have to search for him on the member list though.

@ mods,
Not sure if this is permitted, else please delete this post of mine.

I'm pretty sure you'll hear outrageous prices for Jikov carburettors anywhere you go in India. If you find one, great! If you don't, a Pacco will work just fine. Try the Pacco P43 (Jikov's retarded non-identical twin) or the P47 (Roadking carb, better mileage than the Jikov or P43). Both available brand new all over India for about 1000 bucks each. Cheaper in Karolbagh Delhi for some reason.

Cheers,
Rahul

Re: Restoring Yezdi 250 classic II

Hello,

Thank you for helping and providing tips in finding parts for my Yezdi 250 classic II restoration project. Really it took lot of efforts to get parts from different places, and then working with them to get correct fitting. During such part shopping I met an experienced mechanic Mr. Ravindra, who had helped a lot in complete restoration process. There are still some issues which can be better, but one thing for sure is we added some more meaningful life into the Motor Cycle and sure Kulkarni Dada will be happy.

Due to extensive experience of 35 years in motor cycle repair and specialist in old makes and model, Ravindra Kaka was unbelievable in his work. He started with stripping the motor cycle first, and had all rusted part re-plated to recover lost strength in the body, frame and other rusted parts. Painting was done by local painter Iqbal, who's work speaks for himself. Then all parts were assembled to bring this classic Yezdi back to life. There was heavy rusting in the bearings so all bearings were changed in engine, rear and front wheel axle. Crank bearing was changed to 001 from standard as there was play and occassionally on loaded condition there was unpleasant knocking sound. It seems front fork rod had some extensive pitting from rust, which may not be good for the new oil seals, let’s hope for the best.

So here is the pictorial journey of my Yezdi restoration. Thanks to Mr. Ravindra, Sushil, Mangesh, Subrata and Munna for their valuable help in getting new parts.

Enjoy! sure it could have been better but that will be in next maintainence cycles!

Next task would be to check performance and achieve fuel average of 30KM/Lt. Looking for 6V 14AH battery, current using 12V 14 AH, it would be nice to have restoration to original specifications.

Regards,
Ravi

Re: Alternative Parts list for Jawa/Yezdi

What a lovely transformation of the bike. Let me be the first one to congratulate you as well as thank you for saving one more beauty.

The bike looks good in the current avatar. A few things like the front hub cap and the Yezdi Classic CL II monograms are missing. Let me know incase you don't find them and I will look out for them here in Nasik.

Please make it a point to use her on regular basis. I too have a CL II however, i have changed the headlight dome to resemble a yezdi classic.

Once again, its a pleasure to see your bike now in this condition !!!
