Let me rephrase. We are already confident of Yamaha, no doubt on that. Then why say, Yamaha wants to build confidence by bringing in spare parts?

It sure is a wonderful gesture to bring in parts of a bike which is still in demand after so many years, but I am just not convinced by their reasoning and find it fishy.

Margin should be extremely good to bring in parts of a bike whose production stopped close to a decade ago.

This will also increase the asking prices of used RD350's , I recently came across a beautiful RD350 , the owner asked for a whooping 1.20L !! Im still looking to get a decently maintained one at not at close the savings account price.

1.2L is the price of any semi-decent running RD350 now. Good ones can go for up to 2 and even 3L with correct papers and a visually established 1st or 2nd oversize bore.

none of the RD spares are produced anymore . only RX100 spares are available now, will be followed by RX135 spares soon.

Most of these RD. s are overtaken by RX and TVS 50.S !! Real good RD.s will defenitely go for 2L plus

The RXZ 5Speed and RX-135 5 Speed spares are really hard to find, especially the Bore, hope things change and If it happens I sense the RXs and RDs will be more in demand!

Calling all RX-100 owners in Hyderabad! Please help out a fellow biker if possible.

I recently acquired a Yamaha RX-100; I got a very good deal for it but I think it needs quite a bit of work. I called the Yamaha service center and they told me that they recently (about six months ago) stopped servicing this bike because the company is unable to supply parts for it.

I really don't know where to take it now. I'm reluctant to take it to some random workshop because it's difficult for me to trust them. I have very little mechanical knowledge and neither do I have any friends who are knowledgible / have a trusted mechanic.

If you are an RX-100 owner in Hyderabad, please do advise what I should do / where I should take my bike for servicing.

Should not be a major deal to be honest. Many of the dealers still have the RX 135 stuff which should solve majority of your body-line requirements. Regarding the Engine details, probably you might have to lurk around JC Road or spend some quality time with Motorcycle Components to finish your shopping list.

Guys Just wanted to share my two bits

I got a 200 Model Rx 135 5 speed. Bike was in fair condition, but there was room for improvement. So, I did quite a few changes, largely cosmetic to bring it back to stock showroom condition. For Rx parts an afternoon at Lamington Road should net you all you want. I also got lucky at Kamala Yamaha at Borivali (E) where you must know the part number else the sales clerk will not be able to help you at all. I also suggest you check out Sooraj Auto parts at Lamington Road (Rajeshbhai) who has quite a good inventory. I got the entire Rubber Kit, Nut Bolt Kit, Wiring Harness etc from them. But buyer beware as I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the spares. Having installed all the spares, the only part that went bust twice was the 2T oil window, that I bought locally. My mechanic replaced it with an old but original one. The Rx 135 project is largely done and dusted except for a new front tyre.

I got a US spec Rd 350 yesterday. This is my next project, but having gone thru the forum, I doubt this will be a cakewalk. Am counting on help from my 2 stroke brothers in other parts of the world to source the parts.

Where are you from? if you are in trivandrum, i will suggest go to royal spares in ullur and tell my name, you will get everything you need. Mikuni carbs are no longer available, only Micarb is available and there is not much diference if you are not a sucker for orignal. The late 90s bikes did come with Micarb. if you need orignal Mikuni i know a junkyard guy who can help you.
