if the bike has been standing for quite a long then flush oil from the engine case and clean the case with kerosene/petrol let it dry a bit and then add normal mineral oil 20w50 for CI engines and same goes into the clutch case.
Some enthusiasts prefer synthetic oil which is quite expensive but i personally like the normal mineral oil with a oil change after 2500kms.
Also change the oil filter as and when u change the oil.
Happy thumping!!

Its a 15+ year old bike.

You will need to do a bit of extra checks as well.

1. Tires: Inspect and Replace if needed.
2. Chain: Inspect and Tighten/ Replace if needed.
3. Accelerator Cable: Inspect and Replace if needed.
4. Clutch Cable: Inspect and Replace if needed.
5. Air Filter: Inspect and Replace if needed.
6. Spark Plug: Clean.
7. Oil Filter: Replace whenever oil is changed.
8. All Oils: Replace completely. (Includes Gear/ Engine/ Clutch/ Fork)
9. Front Fork Seals: Inspect and Replace if needed.
10. Petrol Tank:
Fill petrol from the tank into a clean glass.
Shake bike and then see if the petrol coming out now is clean or dirty.
11. Shocks: check tension.

Any decent 20w50 Grade Mineral oil will be ok, . I Use Castrol GTX An am pretty satisfied with this Oil, Only thing with castrol is that you need to get it from a reliable source as there is a lot of duplication.
