going by bajaj's standards I was expecting USD forks, guess there's still some time to go before it becomes the norm... then again it wont help keep the pricing low.. I still think they could have done a bit better, atleast changed the foot pegs like on the stunner or the FZ's with the ankle guard or watever thats called..or something different on the exterior to break the monotony.

Nice bike. What are the stock tires that its coming with?

Ya, get rid of the saree guard and the mainstand.

A bullet rather than an avenger will nicely complete the collection.

Its coming with MRF 120 section tire which the company claims to be having soft compound.
But people who have seen the bike say that the tire looks just like the earlier one.

Saree guard and main stand is off since a long time. I've ridden the TBTS,TB,and an old bullet 350. Somehow they dont appeal too much to me. I like the avenger more because of its lower height and as it was cheaper ( i bought it second hand for 32k) .

Will be putting up the R15 for sale next week. Three is too much to maintain.

@Lancer
now that I have booked the P220 DTSi, and you being an R15 owner too, please tell me which is better overall (Taking into account each and every factor like - pickup, top speed, handling, mileage, VFM, niggling issues etc) ---> P220 or R15 ?

Both are good in their own way.
Power and torque : 220 better than R15
Pickup : 220 better than R15
Looks : R15 better than 220
Handling : R15 better than 220
Lights : 220 better than R15
Suspension : R15 better than 220
Brakes & tires : both equally good
Seating position : 220 better than R15
Pillon comfort : 220 better than R15
Mileage : Expecting almost the same

My R15 is now up for sale !

Why to get rid of the central stand ? Is it for aesthetic reasons or for something else ?

P220 Delivery delay

Hi guys
I made full payment for my bike. But the staff at Bajaj showroom Kaloor, Kochi is saying that the bike has not obtained the approval from regional RTO so hence cannot be registered

First day they said it will be done that day itself.
Second day they said there is some 'agents' strike going on in RTO.
Today they are saying the papers are not returned yet from RTO.

What do u people think? Are they playing around?
Anyone knows anything about the approval of new P220 in Kerala? What might be causing the delay?

Plz help.

@Mithun- The center stand in P220 is notorious for scraping during fast cornering (i.e. while leaning)

@sam- I have read similar stories on xBhp too.

sam_sant2005 : Why can't you make an enquiry directly at RTO ?

hello lancer_vkz, I am happy to find someone having both R15 and pulsar 220. I am thinking of buying one of these bikes after a few months. But I am a bit confused. I will be going for long rides ,something like 200-300 kms on that. I haven't driven the r15( no test drive available from yamaha dealer in my city, Thrissur in kerala and none of my friends are having R15). I have driven the pulsar 220 only twice. I wanted to know which bike will be good for my back( which will create less back pain on long rides). I have read that R15 is a better handler, but I feel that pulsar 220 will be more comfortable for long rides since it is heavier. what do you think? You have said that you prefer the R15 suspension, but which one will you prefer for a long ride on a rough road?
