I get my RXZ serviced at Orion Motors, behind Forum mall. They do a decent job with the servicing, however they don't stock parts for RX bikes.

Service Centre is crowded on Saturdays, better to visit on a weekday. If you go on a Saturday, they will accept the bike but do the servicing on Monday/Tuesday only (for old RX bikes).

For spare parts, visit JC road. There are plenty of spare parts dealers.

Re: Yamaha RX100 - Still in great demand

Any pointers for good Rx100 mechanics in Bangalore.

I have a 1989 bike and want to work on the engine and electrical. I also want to add a chamber exhaust. I heard a while back there was someone around Koramangala specializing in this.

I am loading the bike onto my jeep and will reach Bangalore on Thursday, will give the bike to my friend and pass on to a good garage.

I am an automobile engineer and I build custom bikes. I can help you out if you want. But in case you just want a mechanic then I have heard of a Balaji in Koramangala. Don't know exactly where he is located.

Seeing these old magazine, newspaper articles really feels nostalgic. For the ones who own/owned these, or people like me who used to see our fathers, uncles, brothers ride them.

Re: Yamaha RX100 - Still in great demand

Going through this thread brings back old memories of my RX 100. It was one helluva bike! So many rides to Bangalore and back! Sold it in '92 and have had regrets ever since. Even the purchase of a Bullet 500 cc in 1996 could not wipe out the memories of my RX 100.
My son who is 21 now thinks I must have been out of my mind to sell off an RX. He is on the lookout for one. I am going to have the time of my life stealing rides on his bike!
Regards,
Ashok

That's why me nor my brother hasn't sold our RX135 & RX100. Both the bikes are stored in hibernation for the last 2 years.

Don't want to sell them and later regret. Very close to our heart and buying them was a childhood dream.

Re: Yamaha RX100 - Still in great demand

The RX-100 was definitely one of my favourite bikes. My father had the bike between 1992-1996 and had to sell it when we moved abroad. Ever since selling it, he used to tell me how much he liked the bike and how it's performance is better than other bikes in the market. He bought a R-15 and CBR250R but still missed the classic sound and looks of the RX. After selling all the bikes in the house, my dad wanted to get a normal bike for short trips etc. Since I was on my summer vacation, I thought to take it up as a project and find him a RX, restore it to its original glory and give it to him. Attached are the pictures of the process. The end result was indeed lovely. Long live the king!

I remember pestering my father to go for RX-100. But he bought IND-SUZUKI AX-100 instead. Loved that bike too. We sold it after 90000kms.

IMO, the USP of RX-100 is its awesome SOUND (Engine sound).
One of my friend bought RX-135 when RX-100 was discontinued, but he fixed the silencer of RX-100 just for that SOUND EFFECT.
My friend had a RX 100 that he bought when we joined our first job. I bought Samurai. And I have been using it for 2 decades since.

Re: Yamaha RX100 - Still in great demand

I have always loved the RX100, but the ones in the market are so heavily priced now, it makes me cringe that I did not get one when they were on sale. Beautiful bike.
