1000 CC Bullet ?!?

I was browsing through the Royal Enfield Bullet in Board and read an interesting post.

It read "I visited Enfield Dealer in Chennai - He took me for a factory tour - I happen to see the 2 undertest models of 1000CC bike. It looks rocking. I managed to click some photos too!!"

Has anyone heard of this ? Time for some detective work fellows

I gather that alter.e.go did not click the pics. The pics were taken by someone on the Bullet forum.
Interesting to see a 1000cc Bullet!

Electric Start!

A 1000cc V-twin would be fantastic.

Lots of people have been experimenting with two 500 cc's or two 350's
to make a 100O CC or a 750CC V twin

Guys it not Carberry Enfield.

Yes RE is working on 1000CC Bullet, and most probably it will be a new avtaar of ancient Interceptor.

Expected in by 2011 or so. Again not confirmed. RE takes its own sweet time to launch new models.

And when they do launch a new model they have this habit of ignoring the domestic market and launching their products abroad.

And this is so disappointing considering the export models are just so attractive with better spec tyres and AVL engines which are so much more better looking than the ungly ones in the TBTS and Machismo. I wonder why they do so because even if they priced these models higher, they would still manage to sell good number because the market for RE is anyways a niche market and people still buy brand new REs.

If RE underestimates the Indian market in terms of purchasing power then they are highly misinformed and are not thinking right and if its a problem with homologation then they should start selling modification kits etc.
