My queries are:

1) Will this harm the engine anyway in the long run?
2) Will this void the Pollution norms?

Regards,
Swapnil
Yes it will hurt the engine in the long run, you need a tuned exhaust and then tune the carb to work with the Exhaust.
Depends, difficult to say how it will affect the combustion.

Look for a tuner who can custom build a exhaust for you.

Not my bike but a very good modification done. Malamadre motorcycles from Indonesia has modified a pulsar 200NS to a scrambler.

Bike looks good and clean IMO.

Came across this during R!D Republic day ride Mumbai. The modification looks amazing & some folks even mistook it for the RE Himalayan

Re: Modified Indian bikes - Post your pics here and ONLY here

Since we did not become famous and failed at building cafe racers, we now tried to build a scrambler. Hope you all like it.
As usual this bike was built on the weekends and with minimum budget.

We started with a Yamaha RX 135. Exhaust was ordered from Faster Performance Systems. We changed the front tyre to a Big tyre and rear tyre to Bigger Tyre for cooling effect.
The brake caliper and shock absorber were painted red to improve ride quality.
Tank is from a Rajdoot to confuse the internet.
Handlebars are from an RD 350.
Headlight was offset to improve balance as we have a luggage bag at rear.
Rectangular headlight was used to improve cornering at high speeds.
Brown grips and seat were used because of the gripping effect, obviously.
Chrome fenders to reduce drag.
LED tail light to reduce weight.
Single person seat to reduce occupancy.
Seat was hand formed by a dog.
And lastly, yellow yamaha racing stripes on the tank to increase top speed.

All these mods add up to make this an amazing one of a kind chopper.

Please feel free to criticise because we want to become real custom bike builders one day.

Re: Modified Indian bikes - Post your pics here and ONLY here

Love it, especially the explanation of your design decisions.

Many years ago I made an enduro bike out of an RD350; the weight was a real handicap off road. I think I would have been better off with a 135 like yours.

Of course, the RD had torque.

I actually came here to share pictures of this beautiful bike. Had no idea you were a BHPian too.
And that description had me in splits! You, sir, are as skilled at humor as you are with metal. Hats off.

have custom bikes and mods been banned in several states and are no longer street legal? Been seeing articles in the newspapers every day. Anyone has any proper information? What mods are legal?

Yes, just adding the RD350 handlebar doubled the torque of our bike. Luckily we are not fat, so weight isn't an issue for us.

No one ever takes us seriously. We want to be taken seriously. So we joined Team Bhp. First step to becoming a legit bike modifier.

Yes, they are being banned. The best way to get around the ban is to stop reading the newspapers.

Shukriya..........I hope they start splurging money on us. People don't realise that it is the simple things, like changing the colour of the tank, that will increase performance tremendously.
We live in such ignorant times.

Hey, wait a minute; are you calling me fat??
Maybe I am, but I wasn't back then.
The handlebars have nothing to do with torque; please get you facts straight.
The increased power was entirely due to the hand built fiberglass fuel tank and the little red trim bits over the exhaust pipes.

Re: Modified Indian bikes - Post your pics here and ONLY here

A few years later Yamaha copied my design with the twin under-seat exhaust, red triangle trim bits and all.
I have no doubt there was a Japanese spy around taking pictures.

You can see a pic of my bike way back on page 35 of this thread.
