AP Scooters Vespa PVX - 1992 Version

Being a big admirer/collector of Vespa scooters,my looks fell on a 1992 Vespa PVX made for a limited time by AP Scooters Ltd,on the same chassis as PL 170.
This version had a small 100cc 2-stroke engine and a 4 gear output and a single monocoque body with integrated side panels.
After a quick bargain with the owner,i brought home and started the restoration. It was in a 50% junk condition and it took 3 weeks to do up the engine and rest of works.
Finally the paint scheme was the final task. After close consultation with Piaggio Forum in Italy, who send me some pics of possible colours,I choose a white and coral blue colour scheme and Im glad it has come out well.
Monograms was easily available. One of the Vespa owner in Florence suggested me to add a carry box and butterfly mirrors as this would give certain styling.I was lucky enough to get a LML carry box which fitted like a hand in a glove and the mirrors, though from grey market too very 60s and aspish.
So here it comes...

Hi deep..Utility box is definitly that of LML but a smaller one came in the Italian version.I had to settle for this size of the box and besides i didnt want to fit utility boxes made by Studs and Volga.

Great job!!!

The scooter looks really beautiful, especially the colour combo is looking neat giving it that old look it deserves.

Enjoy your rides with this classic piece.

This has to be one of the prettiest scooters I have ever seen! Beautiful color combination. Do you know many of these were manufactured?

Great addition Ram. Bike looks great - 'pristine' as others have pointed out. Your eye for perfection is an inspiration.

At one time Hyderabad was full of these bikes made by AP Scooters (They had a specific name by which they were known on the street - but it escapes me now).

AP Scooters stuck to single colour (most popular being a cream, a grey and a blue) for this model as well as the 'Allwyn Pushpak' that they used to make earlier.

Cheers,
