I would have known before launching such poll that the winner is going to be RD. No brainer really!

Axually many people still dont know that a particular yamaha RD350 exists.

I made this poll to see which bike is the most known in INdia.

Rd350 faces tough competition from bmw f650 and hyosung comet. Silly me that I forgot to get comet in this poll.

I hope the administrators add the comet in the poll soon.

it's the rd all the way....although i have never had the honour of riding one.... the other bike that comes close to it in terms of sheer thrust has to be the shogun.... although the beemer would run rings around any other indian bike, the rd has that certain oomph....

devarshi, there's a yezdi 350 right here in my colony- and to be fair, i don't think it comes close to the rd...heck, even a 150 out-accelerates it in a jiffy..and before any assumptions are made, the twin cylinder 350cc jawa in question here has been very well maintained, and is in pristine condition...

I wonder y Rd350 didnt sell in those days. even petrol was cheap and the roads empty and at a 30k price tag it was affordable to many??????

Not all of us know of your experiences with the twin. After all, to most of us, you are SuperBalenoMan!

Why don't you put up a post with your experience? I can guarantee you one confirmed reader!!!

Just to put cost in proper perspective, hero honda and Ind-suzuki prices were 12,000 around 87-88. It was pre-liberalization era and obviously not many could afford it. Motorcycle revolution started in 90s.

The 350 Jawa is not about neck-snapping acceleration....Its about laid-back riding and silky smoothness..Even then, a well-tuned 350 Jawa will run away from a 150 like its nobody's business..

The 180-deg crankshaft on the Jawa makes it much more smoother than the RD, and indeed, any other bike made in India to date..Its like riding a 4-cylinder four-stroke...

FYI, about 700 Jawa Twins were produced and sold....I had seen about 40 in the factory before it was torn down...but there was enough time for us to pick up a brand-new engine and Pacco Carb for under 6k....

Nice to meet you too, but its a case of mistaken identity..I am not part of the RD club....

I dont have a Yezdi 350 either, but my friend owns one, and we did it up together 2 years ago..Now all that needs to be done is to fit the new engine after upping the compression a bit....Its a lazy torker, good for highway cruising...I give it 10/10 for highway comfort over the Bullet...The 4-stroke thumping gets on your nerves after a while
