Availability of DOT 4 brake fluid in Pune?

Is anybody here using DOT 4 brake fluid?

I need to change the fluid in my CBZ-X, but am unable to get DOT 4 anywhere. Everyone has DOT 3 only.

Same problem with the car.

Anybody from Pune who can point me towards shops that stocks small bottles that are needed for bike brake systems?

Tried calling up Bosch Chasis Systems (KBX), but it didn't help. :(

I know i use a DOT 4 brake fluid for my Harley here in USA, my best bet try getting some info from harley in India and sure you can get your hands on that one.
4 oz bottle costs is 3.99$ in USA

You do not need DOT4 for indian bikes. Have you ever seen your DOT3 brake fluid boil inside the master cylinder? If no then dont bother.

Harley in India, esp. Pune? That will take some doing in finding out. Plus they need to be ready to sell it over the counter.

Damn... dunno why its soooooooo difficult to get DOT 4 anywhere here in town!!

Bosch/Mico have a Dot 4 brake fluid. Try Behram on 9823354503.

Hey Raccoon,

I am using a Harley in Coimbatore, and recently did some brake fluid bleeding to remove some squealing, and needed DOT4 for replacement. It was readily available at the local bike parts shop. TVS Girling is now marketing DOT4 fluid as well as brake system spray cleaners, and should be available at your local auto parts shop.

Regards,

Gthang.

gthang, it is not readily available here. Else would not have posted here. Anyway, I found out two places in my area who stock KBX (Bosch) and TVS Girling... but both of them have only 250 ml bottles and above. :( And I need much less for my bike. If I don't get a smaller bottle, then I guess I'll have to buy 250 ml and waste the rest. Don't know how/where to dispose it. Any ideas?

Strange... dosen't anybody use DOT 4 for bikes??

He fixes cars (usually high end) as a passion. most of these cars use the higher spec brake fluid so he carries an inventory.

^^^ Okie.. thanks! But that means he would most likely have bigger bottles required for cars. Will try and check with him though...

^^^ Topped up? Not flushed/changed? Most likely they used DOT 3. Do check and let me know which make... if its DOT 4.

^^^ Dudes, as I now mentioned, I have found a couple of places that have DOT 4. But now the problem is they only have big bottles which are needed for cars. I need a small (100ml) bottle for bikes. If anybody knows which company makes smaller bottles, please do let me know. Else I'll have to buy a big one and waste a lot of fluid.

Also, it seems DOT 4 is yellowish and DOT 3 is red. Does anybody know if they come in other colors also? I need to ascertain that my ASC has used DOT 4 in the car.
