I do not trust the claim of 21 ps . I supose there is a huge transmission loss for bajaj bikes .Also the build quality is not that good .based on the experience of 4yr owner ship of a pulsar 180.

which means they aren't doing that on their so called fastest Indian?thats what he intended to say

now most 250cc or + motorcycles will have an edge over the R15, no two ways but if the sole purpose of them will be to beat R15 as per the showroom guy's info, i think they would be taking a step forward and two backwards and don't you think its funny that they have no other info except that the new Pulsar-2?? will beat the R15, its hilarious..

there were other ways to promote the upcoming motorcycle but sadly the guy decided to go the same old way again

We can expect two things from bajaj with this move .... Either they are planning to raise the price of the Fairing version of 220 cos ZMR is way ahead in pricing or else they are coming with a 250cc Bike which will sport similar fairing or may be a little better .. !!

Regards,
D-man.

Neither is going to happen, i believe.

IMO, Bajaj is making this move because it wants to attract more volumes by lowering the price and also it knew that people badly missed the 200 once it was phased out, as it was the best looking Pulsar till date. Hence, Bajaj just milked the situation.

hi all,

Visited ProBiking centre today and took TD as well. Indeed the bike is "S" as scooped and no much different than the "F" in performance but for looks, its bikini fairings and headlights of older siblings, the full fairings and accompanying project headlights are gone. My only opinion is that the chassis fit and finish was shabby, looked like hurried up job from Bajaj. Welding irregularities and black paint looked too dull. This could be one off case but could not digest the fact that Bajaj can do this to top segment motorcycle.

Test Drove the "F" one and my experience is no different than most of Bhpians, bike zooms and never gets out of breath. It indeed is great bike though. Please fins some of the pics that I clicked with my phone.

@fz_rider, @DRIV3R
You are right, Black one comes with all black treatment. The sales guy confirmed was that rest of colors come with silver finish clip-ons/grab rails, I had enquired about silver grey hence the confusion.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 S to be launched Soon

Bajaj is ready to launch street fighter or naked version of Bajaj Pulsar 220 S. As the named indicates, the new pulsar 220 S lacks the quarter fairing and comes with a bikini fairing. Rest of the configuration remains similar to the pulsar 220 with quarter fairing.

I think it is good move by Bajaj. They are firing all cylinders to get the volume in the 150+ segment. Anyone knows the price? How much it is cheaper than current P220?

The s version is cheaper by ~4k than the faired version.

Also it seems that the black bike comes with black finish on the handle bars.

The P220 DTSi (faired version) also has black clip-on and black rear grab bars only on the black coloured one. Rest 3 colors get silver clip-ons and grab bars.

ZMR is mainly expensive because of FI and not because of Fairing

bajaj i don't will launch anything as of now and will concentrate on quality and mass production

Wow, a street fighter 220, awesome idea. Currently own a digital 150. When 220 launched with carb (reduced prices) i was too tempted to buy one. But that fairing was always giving me second thoughts. When i came across this thread my heart said that it, we are on with 220. I miss projectors though. i wish bajaj had made new plastic mould in same bikini fairing as 150/180/200 to accommodate projectors. It would given the bike a lot better look and much more character, but than it would have killed current faired 220.

Yeah, but after market mod will not be as neat as provided by company. It's my opinion though. Also cost of whole modification will be on higher than 4K, it would be then better to go for faired version with comes with factory fitted projectors.

Last year my mechanic converted one Avanger 180 to Avanger 220 with oil cooling etc, so converting a P 150, 180 or 200 to 220 is not big thing, it might be real challange to install the 4 valves in this 220 engine to make her real screamer.
