This is nothing but blasphemy.

Yamaha is acting like Shaikh chilli. Aiming to heap on insult on their own glorious past.

Hasn't Yamaha yet learnt their lesson after launching those endless outrageous Crux A/B/C.../Z contraptions? How is Yamaha going to bring back exhaust note, agility and nimbleness of the old RX with a feeble 100cc 4-stroke engine? (Unless they bring in a race spec 4 stroke engine).

They better know what they are getting into.

Did they not try to transfer the soul of the RX 100 (..) to a 4 stroker in the late nineties?..
yeah yeah that was named Crux. c'mon yamaha !! Wonder how many 2T worships care for 4s. Two to four stoke converts has had no luck so far, remember bajaj M80 4s, how many sold? May be this rx is a poser special.

Another RX100? 4S? The Crux looked similar. The RX performed too and I would love to see a 100cc 4S do it! ( unless they are gonna give us RXR15 - the naked R15 on Crux chassis! )

No, not the Crux. The YBX was much before crux (God, I think of a cough syrup when I hear that name!). It was touted as a performance bike, while the crux was a commuter.

4Stroke RX
and i thought i heard it all

Crux was always there as a 100cc 4 stroke?
This would be another commuter
Why dont they think of resurrecting RD350?
as a 350CC 4 stroke inline twin, now i would love that at least

IMO the FZ is the new RX 100. They should work on it to take the theme further, and not lose the plot!

Yes....I am thinking the same. It may be a new CRUX.
But may not with a R15 engine. But also with a new, more powerful crux engine.

And the price may be near the R15....

And the name may be RX100 4S

Pardon my ignorance , how did it look like / when did that happen ..never came across it

Might be Yamaha delivers a CRUX -R with two 2 stroke engines making it four stroke

Ah, the Supra that came in White/Red & White/Blue avatar! As much as I remember, the Supra never sounded great.

I always felt the Shogun to be the best sounding 2-Stroke Suzuki ever made in India.

doesn't matter if they launch or not, it would be better if we could atleast get genuine parts at a reasonable price.

earlier RX100 parts was internationally sourced from Indian suppliers . now can'nt understand why they are talking about "importing " it for the domestic market...strange

This can be made real, maybe with the DiASil cylinder and forged piston technology used in R15 to generate more power from smaller capacity single head. If R15 can achieve 17 bhp and 15 Nm from 150cc 4 stroke unit, 100cc could also be pumped up similarly. The original light weight same rx 100 styling with better rubber, ergonomics and suspension geometry.

I know the 2 stroke magic cannot be re recreated by a 4 stroke, but this might be the only way. Look at RE launching STD bullet with UCE engine sad but true.

Regards

Maybe they will be able to recreate the performance through technology, but what about the exhaust note of the RX? The RX100 along with Shogun had exhaust notes to die for. Yamaha is definitely on the wrong track, I feel. Just hope TVS doesn't jump into the band wagon & announce a 4 stroke Shogun.

I'm not sure how it will succeed. 4s to the same chasis ? People would expect the same music as the 2s. Give that and you are talking.

I do not think it's a good news. Whatever they do i feel, they can not match the torque 2Stroke engine performance.
I love that 2S engine and it's sound. It's raw power. I do not think 4s can provide that.
