it was high time they got a good pait job for the engine.in costal regions the paint on the cylinder is very prone to oxidation and hence causes chiping of the paint.

but the paint quality on the alloys is ver good, but i feel the zma's alloy wheels color looks good.those alloys are better than ones on the pulsar.i think they are made by enkeni or someone.

now this is turning into a pulsar versus Karizma battle .

Performance is something that is based on the driver.

riders weight, driving styles, the way you maintain your bike, the way the bike is driven in the initial period, clutch settings, tyre pressures and much more affect the performance.

now both the bikes are so closely matched that its hard to not see the other.

about the quality of the pulsars I will say that my pulsar has upto date not seen any repairs and I can still see my image shine on the bike.

the pulsars are as well made as the Karizmas.period

I will give both bikes a 9/10 just because by trying to outdo the other both companies have put all their resources to the extreme.

Both Pulsar's & ZMA's alloys are made by Enkei.

@devarshi: Ditto man, even after 2 years & 27k on the odo there are no signs of the shine fading forget peeling of paint

whichever pulsar i have ridden, I see that the left footrest is lower than the line joining toe and heel end of the gear shift.

had a tough time keeping my foot on it. while it's level at least on my adreno (or may be above that line). but i keep my feet very well relaxed that way, and need to touch the gear shift only when i need to. not sure about other bikes.

The first batch of the Pulsar 180 DTSi V1 had toe only shifters. The DTSi was in showrooms since october 13-15 2003 & I got mine on 7th Nov that too coz I was at my home town for diwali else would have got it in october itself

Only the 180s had these. Check any such piece if you come across.

Donno why they discontinued it :(

They probably got too many complaints from people who got their shoes dirty!

hmmm...i thought all the 180 dtsi v1's had toe shifters....the v2 has heel-toe, but v1...i'm not sure actually, since my v1 arrived in sep 03 (end aug, to be precise), before it was launched....
