UCE electra in showroom

Hello All,
Here is the good news for all electra owners.

I had gone to check the status of my TBTS booking on friday. the RE person person informed i need to wait another one or 2 weeks for my TBTS. meanwhile he gave me option to change my booking to electra UCE engine so that i will be the first to receive the bike. folks at my place dint want me to change the decision to electra. they liked TBTS more. anyway from saturday this bike is in display at RE stores.

no bike was in godown. there will be no changes apart from engine. they showed me the CI engine and said by looks there are no changes apart from engine compartment. I was invited to go on saturday but couldnt make it.

He even offered me to change my booking from TBTS to electra. But i defered.

Booking are open now. this is confirmed.

No PV. As of now he had informed it will only be electra. May in month of april or may they might launch 500. let them first delete backlog of current bookings.

as per information

CLs all models - 300 bookings pending.
TBTS - 74 bookings.

CI engines few backlogs.

surprisingly the Standard is still listed on the site.
good to see Enfield going the UCE way.
lets hope the UCE electra churns out good amount of torque and bhp when compared to the outgoing one.

I am not sure of that!
The UCE 350 doesnt seem to have to have the creamy,lazy low end of the CI.
Is the Electra going to come with exact same engine as TBTS and CLassic? What about the pricing?

This is definitely a bad news for me. I have a 2006-march CI Electra 5S.
Now i am worried about the parts availability.
Because Some times electra 5S parts(Mainly Clutch wire) not available in pune.
If the production is stopped then god save us....

What happen to all who own CI engine bullet. :(

UCE electra?? Did RE actually let go of the cast iron engine??

I remember when I picked up my Machismo 5s in 2003, there were people who kept telling me I should have picked up the Electra instead since it the good ol cast iron engine and not the aluminium cast engine!!

Out of curiosity what does this make the UCE electra?? Cast iron UCE?? I don't think RE would spend the time and monies in re-inventing an older tech engine!!

But this should be interesting!!

Its the same UCE from TBTS. CI is no more.

There are thousands of Cast Iron's plying on the road today i doubt spares is going to be an issue apart from OEM i.e RE there are NON OEM manufacturers who make spares for the cast iron.

if you are still paranoid u should just stack up on essential spares.

just a thought . the UCE Standard displayed at the auto expo .. will it run on

points?

I read somewhere in the forum that bookings are open with dealers for UCE electra.

I have shortlisted the same for my brother's next ride (presently, he is riding TVS Fiero F2, which has served him well

). The other bikes that we have shortlisted are TBTS & Fazer.

I had suggested P220 as I use a P150 & am very happy with the reliability & the performance of my bike (

it can to 110kmph & gives a mileage of ~60 kmpl in delhi traffic @ 5000 rpm; done more than 50K kms in 3.5 years

). But, he is not keen on having "all eggs in same basket".

He has confirmed that he would go for RE bike this time, except something unfortunate (god forbid) happens with our decision, in which case we would go for the Fazer. Money is really not a factor as we can buy a 5 lacs car with the cash we have.

Please advice whether bookings are open for the UCE Electra (Classic is not our cup of tea, styling is prehistoric, & not retro/classic) & whether the new model is available test rides (in & around Delhi).

PS : There is nothing on the company's website till date.
