While not a Sunday ride, thought I'd share anyways.

Shanenanigans and myself decided late Friday night that we need to ride someplace (the itch to ride out is very strong with us ) and decided it's gonna be Shettihalli Church. While Shane (Shanenanigens) charted the route, I went and prepped my Ninja, at 11:30pm!

Met up at Mekhri circle next day morning and rode out to Mayura, our usual breakfast stop on that route. There were, as usual, a lot of bikes, Tigers, Z800s, a gang of Bullets out for an overnighter, a Benelli 600GT, a Limited Edition ZX10R (I'm guessing), Harley Fat Bob and this fella:

After filling our tummies we rode out, just about 95kms more to go. We stopped near Hassan to check for the directions and I took the lead (as I had the phone mount on the Ninja).





We reached there around 9:30-ish.


It's a beautiful place, serene, only the breeze making any sound. The Fat Bob and one of the Tigers (from Mayura) joined reached the spot shortly thereafter.

We took our bikes up to the old broken bridge for some pictures.










The return was eventful - saw a fatal accident near Hassan, just before our fuel stop and another one closer to Bangalore, just off BEL circle.

Reached home just before 3pm. A day spent well.

I was searching this forum for a venue to do a short ride this weekend, and this one caught me.

Did you do this? As it's been a while, not sure whether you recollect, could you please tell me the timings that you covered for this ride. And how was this ride, and also the route details please.

Recently did this ride. 2 bikes and 2 cars (yeah, my bike was in the shop). There's a fair bit of off-roading as you get closer to the dam.

Left at 0630; Was home before 12.

Had a great ride this morning with the bhpians through Anchetty. It's my usual training ground with Ironh4wk and bsingh08 but we had more company this time around.

That looks like one beautiful ride. By the way, is there something exciting to see at Anchetty, or was it just a riding experience that it is about.

Anchetty loop is basically like a training ground with it's twists and turns, ups and downs. There are a couple of places you could stop to take pictures. That's pretty much it (I've not gone discovering the place though).

I religiously check this thread every weekend when there's a message, have been doing that for the last 1 year or more, never managed to go out with any of you guys.

This Sunday, I am in!

How about a trip to/towards Gandikota? Is that too far for a Sunday ride? I have been there couple times, on my bike, and it takes about 6 hours just to get there. But the place is unique.

Or how about the deer park near Madhugiri? Or any other place anyone knows. I am game as long as it is either north or west of Bangalore. Even east is fine, but south is a bit too far.

Yesterday's ride was to Basavanabetta was my first one after a self imposed break of 3 months.

We, unk9ja and I, started from the Kanakapura - Nice Road junction at 6:30 AM and reached home by 11 AM. Basavanabetta is a hillock around 25 - 30 Kms after Kanakapura.

The road winds through 2 hamlets and a reserve forest ending up at a small Basaveshwara Swamy temple at the end of the road. We were the only people at the place since it's not much of a touristy spot.

A bit after Sathanuru and just before Halaguru, there is a bus shelter on the left and beside that there is a cement arch that is still not painted. That's the road we took to reach this place. The road is well maintained and there are no potholes or speed breakers anywhere on this stretch.

Did a short ride to DD Hills and back with Man_of_Steel and two of his buddies. We had two Duke 390s, a Tiger XR and myself on my Ninja 650.

It was a chilly morning and I had the wrong attire on - mesh jack, aerated boots and vented gloves! It was 7.5degrees; at one section, where there are a lot of trees, the temperature dropped to 6.5degrees! Almost froze to death!



Whenever we stopped, I put my hands on the engine to get some warmth

Where are the pics of the offroading that you guys did? Heard the Duke boys and the Tiger had fun climbing up untreadable paths.

This seems like a great place but it's a full day ride. Best suited for an overnighter. We usually have these short quick rides around the city on the weekends. The ones where we ride to someplace nice, have a quick breakfast and then ride back.
