| Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides This Saturday's ride to Male Mahadeshwara was the only ride where I didn't take any pictures. Me and Red Liner met up at the Kanakapura - Nice Road junction at 6:30 AM and after a quick hello, both of us started off. The entire ride saw me playing the catching up game with Red Liner. My riding skills were no match for his.  The roads from Kollegal to the start of the Male Mahadeshwara hills are patchy, but apart from this stretch most of the other roads are good. This is one of those routes that has it all. From well tarmacked village roads, curves, twisties, hair pin bends and 4 lane highways. There are several scenic spots as well that are worth a stop for pics. We came back via Mettur and stopped for a quick lunch at Hotel Sai Sangeet at Dharmapuri. Reached home by 4 PM. A total of 450 kms and a day well spent. This is the route we had taken.  |

| What better way to usher the new year than to ride (I know others had different plans, but stay with me)! Couple of us decided to go for a early morning ride to Dandiganahalli reservoir. I had been there before, but in my car. It's a beautiful place, serene and calm. You've to be there early to truly appreciate the beauty. I met up with Imran (shaikhmimran) opposite Esteem Mall, Hebbal at 6:30. After the customary greetings, we ride out on the new airport road. The visibility was horrible, there was fog all around, specially on the flyovers. We kept to the left most lane and proceeded cautiously. There were many two wheelers out on the road, most of them riding recklessly - without lights, multiples on a bike and just plain speeding through the traffic (even though the visibility was low).    Our gear started getting wet due to the water condensing on them. We had to keep wiping our visors to see what's ahead.  After crossing the airport toll, we decided to stop for a bit and to get some hot tea into us. That's when Shane (shanenanigans) showed up (he had slept a tad bit more and had missed the rendezvous point).     Feeling warmer, we decided to hit the road again. Since it was the highway and open areas on both sides, the fog was still present and the air was cold (thank God for the windshield on the Ninja). Shane was leading, followed by me and then Imran. At the Chikkaballapur turnoff I took the lead since we needed to use navigation and I had the ram mount on my Ninja.  After a couple of kilometres, we go off the highway and traversed through villages and bad roads to finally reach the spot, after having gone in the wrong direction once (thanks Google).        While we were there Doc (Vijay a.k.a Mashblue) called us to find out where we were. After a couple of exchanges he said he'll join us shortly. Meanwhile, we had removed our jackets and kept it on a stone slab nearby for drying (they were damp and that dampness had attracted dust on to them while we were traversing through the villages).   After a short while, Doc reached the spot. We chatted for some time while enjoying the view and taking pictures.   On our way back, Doc noticed a cemented path heading up to our left. We decided to explore it. It was a temple with a view of the water body in front of it. It was beautiful. I was too lazy to dismount, so I just sat on the Ninja and took a picture  After that we headed down and rode a bit before stopping at a tea stall for some refreshments. Then it was ride back to Bangalore, with a stopover at Nandi Upachar for breakfast. After the Hebbal signal the four of us parted ways and rode our steeds into the afternoon sun. | Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides This Sunday we all rode to Krishnagiri dam. The onward route was via Hosur - Shoolagiri and we returned back via Royakottai. The rendezvous point was at 6:30AM at the signal immediately after the electronic city elevated flyover. From there the 8 of us, Porschefire, shaikhimran, Shan_ned, Neil.Jericho, unk9ja, sujithpnair, Karthik (a non tbhpian) and I, rode on to Shoolagiri. At Shoolagiri we stopped for a leisurely breakfast at the Sri Krishna Inn. The unmistakable exhaust note of Mashblue's Honda 650 let us know that he had arrived as well. After our scrumptious breakfast, the 9 of us rode onto Krishnagiri dam. A few pics that I took from my mobile.            |
