Anyone up for a short breakfast ride on 3rd December? I am thinking of going till dandiganahalli dam near chikkaballpur. It is around 78KM from hebbal.
I am also OK if anyone has any other place in mind. I am planning to leave from hebbal by 7AM. Cheers.

Did a ride to Dandiganahalli dam today morning with couple of my friends.

Started at 06:30am and reached the dam at 08:40am. Not a pleasant ride beyond Chikkaballapur due to the road conditions. Construction going on in the first 15kms stretch after C'ballapur, and 7kms post that is in really bad shape. The last 3kms was closed for 4 wheelers due to construction, and left with only a few feet width for two wheelers to pass by. It was a heck to pass by that. But all that was worth for the view that you get finally. A beautiful place to visit.

In case anyone planning, I suggest to not plan for the next one or two months to visit there until all the work is complete.

Maybe Doddaballapur - Tondebavi - Dandiganahalli dam might be a better route. Thanks for this - was searching for a place to visit on 1st Jan. Might just end up clubbing this with a visit to Ghati Subramanya.

We drove to Makalidurga Trail 3 weeks before. Took the usual Yelahanka Doddaballapur Road to reach here.

The 4 lane work on Doddaballapur Road has actually progressed pretty nicely that there are very small sections that are undone and you would hardly realise about it. However, one ROB work before reaching the Intersection that connects you to Devanahalli is still undone but in both directions we never had to wait for a train to pass.

And as mentioned by RJ earlier in another thread, the main ROB exactly at the intersection before Doddaballapur town is fully done.

Beyond Doddaballapur we drove past Makalidurga and the roads are smply fantastic. For you to reach Dandiganahalli, you would have to drive further ahead on this road for less than 10 kms or so. I think the roads should be good because I didn't notice any construction work from Doddaballapur all the way to Makalidurga and little beyond that and the tarmac is awesome.

So you may instead of taking KIAL + Devahanahalli take the usual Doddaballapur road from Yelahanka itself.

Been a while since I posted here! Last Saturday we (wife and I) happened to do a last minute planned ride to Shivanasamudra and BR hills. Being a weekend and a relatively dry one around Bangalore in the last few weeks meant we could expect big crowds. Hence we decided to leave early and it turned out to be a good decision. Before the weekend trippers could arrive, we were on the way out.

With regards to the route, took Kanakpura - Malavalli onward and Malavalli - KM Doddi - Maddur on the return. While the return route was awesome, Kanakpura road was a bit of a mess. Almost the entire stretch from Harohalli to Kanakpura and intermittently between Kanakpura to Malavalli is undergoing expansion work. The existing tarmac also isn't in great condition.
