Changing Silencer for Pulsar 180Dtsi

Dear friends,

The silencer of my pulsar 180 Dtsi got busted and all the glass wool has been gone. I have to buy a new silencer. Wondering If I can fit anyother silencer on my bike. Is it possible to fit an fz-16 's silencer on the same?

Jas, the fat FZ16 will not be a direct fit on to Pulsar & the foremost reason being the space constraint to fit the large square silencer into a place that was occupied by a short round exhaust. Next thing is about the mufflers; not sure how many mufflers Pulsar has compared to FZ, after a great deal of effort if you don't get the same performance from the Pulsar, not only the effort is futile but the money & time is also goes waste. Stick to the OE is my suggestion.

Better option is to buy the latest P180 exhaust. Just go ahead !

has your exhaust cracked ? how did the glass wool come out ? whats the problem with riding it the way it is ?

My suggestion is to go for the P200/P220 silencer. IMO looks much better and will be a direct fit on the P180. Last time I enquired my service guy hd quoted me 7Kfor a new one and about 3-4K for a used one. Although I fail to understand why anyone will fit a used silencer !!

silencers on all bikes are made for their specific engines and work best that way . not like a univeral thing . fz silencer is made keeping in mind the yammy engine .

my advise is to buy company exhaust for p180 or go for a free flow exhaust from joel / fieroid .
