Dear All,

i used to own an YAMAHA RX100 1987. I had to part with it since it was idle for many years though it was taken good care off.

I have decided to buy a good bike to get back to my memories of racing, rallying & riding. The bike will be use purely for pleasure rides & not for any events as such. but it needs to give a good adrenaline rush like the RX 100 !

The bike has to have decent power though not very powerful. I have set a budget of about a lakh for the new bike.

Would you guys help me decide the new bike. I have thought about few options, but would like your guys to suggest and let your opinions out , since i feel there are experts out here.

The new pulsar 220 (also called the bikini pulsar, the one without the fairings), or the R15. How about a used super bike? Though 1L is too less for a super bike.

Whew. RX 100. Its one of the legendary bikes in out market. The pickup, power generated by this machine was enough to make your day.

Within the budget which you have, I can think of the following bikes:
- Apache RTR 180 . Very powerful. Good riding position.

- ZMR.

- P180. My friend got this one recently. Great looks and powerful engine. But I found the seating position little uncomfortable for long rides.

- FZ 16

There are other options also which I dont know much about.

Hey, if you can stretch you budget till 1.5 lks, then you have the RE Classic 500.

What're the options that you're thinking of Nandan? A Lakh can fetch you anything from FZ16, ZMA, RTR, P220S, R15 & C350. IMO, pleasure is a subjective word on biking; what may appeal to me may not be appealing to anyone else. So appreciate if you can list down your requirements & expectations apart from pleasure; list down in terms of FE, riding posture, distance coverage, specific use such as city riding/touring/track & how much you intend to cover in each, build quality, A.S.S etc.

If you discount rallying from your wish-list, may i suggest a YZF R-15?
i too have had my share of strokers, but this machine is to die for, trust me,

i couldn't have found a better reason to shell out 1L

Nandans do you really believe these 4 strokes can provide you with enough adrenaline like the RX. It is that beat which is transferred from the engine to the soul :). I think you should get a RX and restore it. The joy of riding a restored RX is more than riding a new 4 stroke.

Otherwise R15 is a good choice. I would stay away from the pulsies since every other household has one.

What are your options by the way.

Just found out this link in another thread. Just check out. Sorry for tempting you.
