I looked around at eBay and other online stores in the UK and couldn't locate the affected rubber tube. I don't have a part number either. I did manage to locate the service manual but that does not mention the part number for the rubber hose.

Trying to get the part number from Kawasaki itself. Let's see how it goes.

Thanks Ashu. The service centers at blore reported that the rubber hose is not in stock at the factory also. If you could check and let me know, it would be a great help. Thanks again.

Sorry Aditya, I had it on a whatsapp chat with one of the prospective Ninja sellers. Deleted all of those when I lost interest. It was a Malaysian store/company if I recall correctly. As an example, the side fairing which costs 20K from Bajaj, cost 16K landed from that site. Most parts were priced accordingly (I had a fair idea of the costs of most of the big ticket replacement/potential damage/wear n tear parts of the Ninja to compare with).

I was considering changing all the rubber hoses such as brake lines, radiator hoses, etc. since the bike has run quite a bit and heat would have taken a toll on the rubber parts. Let's see how it goes.

So I've got a slot booked for the 40,000 kms service on Saturday.

Apart from this minor issue, the front brakes are juddering at low speeds when applied. Most likely it's dust in the cylinders and since I'm riding to work around once a week, this may be the cause. Will be doing a complete brake bleed for both brakes over the weekend.

I'm also going to ask the mechanic to check the condition of all the rubber hoses - brake lines, radiator hoses, etc. to ascertain if they need replacement. At this milestone of 40k kms, i guess it's worthwhile to check and replace. If the mechanic suggests otherwise, will get this checked again at the 50k kms checkpoint.

Got my Ninja serviced the weekend before last. Was a bit busy so couldn't update earlier.

The 40,000 kms service cost me Rs. 4762/- which includes the cost of oil as well (Motul 7100 20W50 Fully Synthetic @ Rs. 700 per liter).



Since the service, the bike has clocked a little over 200 kms of commuting in the city and it appears that the coolant reservoir leak has been addressed.

The required part is still in transit but I guess the service center has swapped pipes or did some jugaad to fix the issue. Happy that it's finally fixed. The coolant level was only slightly lower than full so there was no danger of overheating, etc.

Nothing more to report. She's doing great and will be completing a fast paced and fun filled 4.5 years in less than 2 weeks.

Last weekend, my friends and I rode to Kuppalli, a small village in Thirthahalli taluk of Shimoga district in the state of Karnataka.

We started early in the morning on 24th Jan and returned late the next day via Kudremukh, Hassan and Bellur cross. We were 11 of us on the ride and we covered around 900 kms in 2 days.

Small update from my side and yes, it's been a long time since I updated this thread.

I've been mostly using the bike for office commutes now, since work schedules have been hectic and Sunday is the only day I can catch up on lost sleep.

She is 5 years now (as on 5th of this month) and the odo just crossed 45,000 kms. 5 years have gone past very quickly but I remember and cherish each ride on this baby. I've made some great friends thanks to her and these memories and relationships are truly fulfilling.

I'll be taking her in for the customary oil change which I do every 5000 kms in a week or two.

I also got the 5th year insurance renewed from Oriental and it cost me around 2200 bucks, inclusive of the zero depreciation top up.

Around 2 weeks back, I bought a pair of swingarm sliders and spools from here. The owner, Aditya Bhelke from Pune is a Ninja 650 owner himself and a very pleasant chap to deal with.

The order was promptly delivered to me and it took me under 2 minutes to install the sliders and spools. I also ordered a chain cleaning brush and a small bottle of loctite to seal bolts and nuts.
