Vespa Set To Re-enter India. EDIT: Now Launched @ Rs.66,661/- ex-showroom Maharashtra

Mod Note : Please continue the discussion on the Vespa Launch Thread. Thanks.

The iconic Vespa, which made waves on almost every Indian road for many years, is set for yet another comeback, with unmistakable appeal and practicality combined with comfort and modern design. After its first entry into Indian soil 50 years back, Vespa surely has had a lot of fame on its side before ‘Hamara Bajaj’ spoiled its party.
The board of Piaggio & Co has announced its plan to invest nearly €30 million over two years to set up a 1.5-lakh capacity plant that will produce a model specially developed for India, the world’s second-largest market for motorcycles and scooters. Most probably, the model will be from the LX125 model range and the cute little wasp (Vespa means wasp in Italian) will be making its presence felt in the domestic circuit in its new avatar by 2012.

They will be doing their homework.

Good for Vespa Wasim Bhai. They cant afford to miss India as there is a huge potential for Scooters.
Vespa is a known brand in India for decades like Fiat.
I surely will purchase a brand new Vespa and add to my fleet.

I think vespa should take an approach to what Yamaha is doing.Come out it quality products aimed at the upper segment of the market and keep a sense of exclusivity to the brand.

That's a BRP product (Bombardier). How can Vespa bring it to India? They might have a similar product in their portfolio though.

LML is back in the market with a geared scooter, I think NV.

The Vespa looks amazing, funky colour and style.

seen in magazines that LML is selling the good old NV in 2 stroke ? is it true? If they bring a 2 stroke with centre engine mounting nothing like it. but looking at the european Vespa styling and the cult feeling Vespa is still in the minds of many Indians (same like the Fiat )
