Here is an update.

MY parents and bro test drove almost all bikes. Yes the least expected one too.

Let me start from what they felt about each bike.

A disclaimer: Its their opinion and I have no say in it.

GS150R: All of them loved it. Good pickup, Comfortable seats, silent engine. A waiting of minimum of 3 weeks.

Dazzler: My parents didn't like its look. Though they liked its engine, comfortable ride with pillion. They felt it was pulling slowly compared to GS150R.

Pulsar 150 Dtsi: They felt huge improvement compared to our bike. Not only in power, the refinement too. They liked the silent engine, good pickup, felt that they had to give more throttle to get to speeds which i deduce that it produces power at higher rpms.

The showroom guys made an offer of buy back. 20K Rupees for my 2003 P-150. They denied it. We are getting around 25000 rupees offer from outside mechanics. Is it good? As such we gonna keep it till Dec '10

FZ: A bit heavy for dad, Slow. Uncomfortable seat for pillion (mom). Dad isn't too excited about this. My bro likes it but is turned off by price and low fuel economy.

Hunk: Its a no non-sense bike. Parents didn't like the plastic quality. After riding dazzler and gs150r, this was rejected immediately.

Stunner: Bro owned it before, still likes it. Dad drove it for first time. He liked the looks. Quite slow to gather speed.

Decision is almost made. Unless some surprise comes up.

Any guesses?

Will reveal the final decision tomorrow once the bike is booked.

I appreciate member's opinion and Thank you all for helping us make a decision.

Thank You

GS150R or P150.

I still feel Dazzler is an excellent package over GS150 and P150.

I think its going to be the GS too, followed by the Stunner even though the Honda expensive for what you get.
My cousin bro is in a similar situation, he is a young college kid. For his age and usage though, the FZ / Fazer is quite suitable and I have advised him so too.

Well well well. Many members betting on GS150 and P-150.

The booking was suppose to be done today but has came to a hold. Now you wonder why? There is a twist in the tale.

Well, on my insistence and some logical explanation to my bro, we have two new entrants in our choice and now its definitely gonna be one of three.

Those two are Pulsar 180 or Pulsar 220 DTS-I. Third being our original choice.

Yes, my bro agreed to take a look at these. The only downside for me is, my beloved 2003 p-150 is gonna be sold immediately if we decide to go for either of these two.

The bike that we were to book was Stunner. I am sure most you must have been stunned to hear this.

But that's who it goes. Our discussion has been taking too many turns, perfect recipe for a thriller . So now its again a 3-bike shootout.

Logically and fingers crossed, 220 dtsi should win, but lets wait for a couple of days to see where things stand.

Sorry for long post. Please don't flame me, I am guilty of increasing budget upwards by ~12k rupees.

Good twist in the tale... A powerful one at that if the 220 DTS-i is shortlisted. I am sure the 220 will impress with its power delivery and will not disappoint you on the mileage front as well. Ride position is spot on not being too aggressive which will help with the in city rides. If your bro is going with the faired version then you have to be prepared for the fairing vibes and also some minor scratches in the parking spots in the city.

Even I would suggest going for P220! Its a near to perfect package and would suggest going for the one with fairing

PS: I own a Pulsar 150 (2004).

Its decided.

The Pulsar 220 DTS-I it is. Its gonna be 220 S. The street fighter version.

We would be buying it in first week of july. After we sell Pulsar 150 dtsi.

Thank you all for your opinion and help. Will keep you all updated about how things go.

Appreciate it.

Wonderful!! Congrats to your bro and you... And its really nice to see that you have decided to go for the 220S which is practical for the crowded city streets and parking spaces. Only thing is the exclusivity of being a P220 will be lost. But on the bright side you wont have to live with the fairing vibes forever

Great choice. Its the ultimate sleeper bike right now. On the traffic light drags its going to make other P 150 owners think whats wrong with their vehicles when this P 220 blitz past.

Also I think P220 has the best cost to performance ratio in the whole wide world .
