Yamaha Gladiator gear shifting problem

I bought a new Yamaha Gladiator RS last year in Bangalore.

From the very beginning I am facing a very irritating gear problem.

Often while driving when I press down the clutch followed by gear lever push, all I get is a spring like bounce in the gear lever. No matter how hard I try the gear lever just becomes like a spring it just bounces doing nothing till I release the clutch half way through.

On releasing the clutch half way, I hear a loud "khat" sound as if the gear is slotting in place. After that only I am able to change the gear. This problem becomes worse while driving on congested roads.

I have given the bike for servicing to the Panache motor Yamaha showroom at Indiranagar, but they just wash and clean the bike and return it to me with false promises.

Does anyone know what may be the cause of this problem? To me it seems like a case of gear box malfunction. Is this a manufacturing defect? Since the bike is still under warranty, what are the legal remedies that I can get?

Facing the same issue after the first service on my RTR. I see this happening when I am in heavy traffic jams and tend to shift a bit more than usual. What is your riding style?

@xingmaster - check your gear main drive shaft checked from a good Y.A.S.S & take a second opinion from a trustable mechanic. This issue is bound to happen when the gear main shaft has slight bend or sometimes even new one. What's the clock on ODO?

I also face this issues when going in congested traffic when I have to change gear a lot. I always keep the engine in correct RPM so not sure what the issue is.

Unfortunately I do not know of any good bike mechanic in Bangalore and YASS is pathetic here to say the least. I have clocked over 5000 KM.

@Xingmaster - YASS is pathetic even in Chennai
Just book a job with YASS & talk to them nicely & remain with them when they open up; alternatively take it to some local garage to get this verified. Search google or TBhp site for some good mechs; they needn't be Gladiator specialist, its OK, even if they're 4S specialist other than RE.
