Customs have pulled 200,000 out of their butt and decided that this is the value of my 2000 RE 500 standard. Unless I can produce an invoice I will be charged tax on this amount

Can anyone please send me an invoice for a 500 Enfield. At this point any year and model will help

Thanks

Hog Head, sorry to hear about your trouble with the customs. It isn't clear if the customs want an original invoice or if a copy would be sufficient.

If a copy will do the job, then find an invoice copy (any invoice) from any Royal Enfield dealer (I am sure you will have more luck with that in this forum). Get hold of a friend who is good with Photoshop, design your own invoice for the RE500, print it out and voila, Bob's your uncle.

I know this isn't ethical, but........... just a friendly suggestion.

Cheers.

A copy will do fine, and while a 2000 Standard 500 would be best any year or model 500 will do.

RE is less than useless, as are the dealers I have contacted, so no help there.

BTW that is 200,000 Baht or 301,000 Rp they have decided is the value !!!

Woah! You need the Invoice for that? My (Doppie's) turn will come in under 3 years from now. She is a 2002 Std 500 but was registered only in 2004.

Invoice is needed to pay the taxes. I am re registering the bike in Maharashtra where as the bike is Karnataka passing. If you have invoice for 2002, that will .work for me

My "woah" was triggered by the fact that I do not have the Invoice as well. Not a normal commercial one at least .....

My Std 500 was not bought from the dealer per se. It was an ARAI Test bike that was bought directly from the company (Royal Enfield) and the paperwork was thus not the normal one.

As I said, she is a 2002 manufacture bike, which I bought and registered in 2004.
