Yamaha FZ25, A reality ?

I used to always find this FZ16 bike extremely sexy and think, why not a 250 on the same bike. If the chassis can take it, nothing like it.

Fazer 250 coming to India by Oct 2010

I hope it will come to India. This will make a great tourer!!

If priced right, Yamaha can seriously exploit the untapped segment.

Very true ! For race tracks they have the R15 and for the tourers, FZ25 will do wonders. Rightly priced, this can do wonders to the sales chart !

FZ25 or not...but FZ6 surely exists. I have FZ16 and in the Yamaha showroom, I've seen FZ6 (600cc) on display alongwith R1, Vmax, MT01. They told me that they don't have any plans of launching in India, but they've kept it just for display. I guess if someone walks in with enough cash, they might just consider it.

Every year we get our hopes high, every year Yam launches a new bike <150cc.

Would be a great move, if they really do bring it in.
High revving tourer! :P

Why can't it be a 4 valve, liquid cooled engine? :(

Yamaha has no plans to introduce this here. But the FZ6 will be a real sweet deal if they can bring it down.

Take news like this with a pinch of salt. There were a lot of rumors that Yamaha is contemplating on launching the 125cc sibling of the R15 too. Nice engine but that would kill the competition so no way this will materialize.

P.S. check out the Aprilia 125cc video on youtube. That bike kicks some serious butt and does a top whack of 170 kmph.

Specs read 21 bhp <<juicy>>. But will Yamaha launch a bike that makes more power than their R15?

If anything, its the R15 that need a serious boost of power.

Rear tyre is not as fat as FZ16 LOL.
Jokes apart it will be good if Honda also launches their 250 Twister as that one is DOHC and produces 26 BHP but its not fi engine.

Sweet !.

I hope this news is true. I was just going to plonk some money on the Fastest Indian. Glad i saw this news, else i would end up riding the second fastest Indian in two months time. I am a bit skeptical about Bajaj Quality, but from reading the reviews of 220 DTSi, it looks like they have made a reall effort, especially with the false gear issues.

But if I can get a Yamaha 250, nothing like it. Eagerly awaiting this bike. It is amazing that Indian manufacturers have a different model for every decimal between 100 and 150 cc. However, beyond 150 cc, they are really scared, with only Bajaj making a reall effort. Japs are playing too conservatively. If the Fazer 250 is launched , it will be absolutely awsome and may push the second fastest Indian to get faster with a 350 cc engine.

Dont go by the news, it is motoroids, i just realized, no offense but most of their news is fake and misleading. A few months back they were talking about a Bajaj 350, when questioned the reporter replied that he has "sources" in Bajaj.

@ everyone IMHO, do not take this news too seriously.

Plus the bike in question makes 21bhp and is still a 2 valve per cylinder engine. I would rather wait for the RTR 2xx.
