Re: My Yamaha RX100 restoration thread - A tribute to my childhood crush

Couple of people did ask me on how to do the wiring in an RX 100/135. Here is a detailed tutorial.

I have also converted the RX 100/135 headlight bulb to an H4 bulb using a DCM Toyota headlight Reflector, feel free to let me know if anyone wants me to create any specific videos.

Re: My Yamaha RX100 restoration thread - A tribute to my childhood crush

Great thread! happy to see some life thrown into this master piece! I am getting ready to restore my 2004 RX135. Will soon start a thread related to my restoration. But i will take longer to finish the restoration. I am bit worried about the parts availability.

Like I mentioned in the PM, everything is available. Is this your first restoration? And are you going the DIY route?

One more DIY video, This time Cleaning the carb

Coming up next, tuning the carbs(RX,RD,Shogun etc)

Re: My Yamaha RX100 restoration thread - A tribute to my childhood crush

Yeah, this will be my first restoration. Bought parts 2 weeks back. I have most of what i require (I think). Once i dismantle the bike, I will go for second (hopefully, the last) round of shopping.

I think it will be a mix. Partly DIY and partly through a mechanic.

Still some months to wait before I start. Cant hold my excitement!

In the meantime, looking for a RX 100

Just woke up and went through all your videos once again. Paused one of your videos and was staring / admiring your bike for a while . Great job!
Bro, please post a video of the exhaust note while idling and reving

Finally Got rid of those Ugly alloy wheels, Wire wheels are back and it has made the bike extremely light and nimble.

Re: My Yamaha RX100 restoration thread - A tribute to my childhood crush

Ashley,I have the full service manual of Rx100, but in malayalam. If it helps, I can scan it and upload it sometime. It gives all the details of carburettor tuning among other details. Tuning is not done based on the number of turns, It is only a range. It is specific to each engine and carburettor including its float height.spark plug gap, air filter conditon, engine health, reed valve conditon, carbon deposit level both in the engine and silencer pipe etc.

The Air screw is 1.5 turns out from fully tight. I have created one video on carb float height, i think that video covers this as well. There are multiple carb tuning videos. Kindly check the playlist below.

Hi Pramod,

Can you confirm if this is an RX100 exhaust or RXG?
