Hello,

Here's my first thread.

Well, I do own a Shogun which I use it quite rarely (whenever am in India). Am kinda out of touch in the city, could anyone refer a Shogun mechanic/specialist based in Hyderabad? Even though I own a very expensive 'RED' bike in the US, have no intention to sell one of my favorite two-stroke Indian bikes (other was RX-100 but sold it off). Just love to treasure my memories with it, forever.

Coming to the point, there is some decent work to be done such as solve the mild noise enigma from the enigma, new tyres, silencer decarb, nickel coating, tank cleaning and also I wanna replace Speedometer, Odometer etc. I did read a thread here 1996 Shogun Rebuild written by adityasiera.

Also, if anyone knows any info. on the spares, please share. Looking forward for the responses :)

Thank you.

getting new spares for TVS two strokes is almost impossible, i guess

Yamaha two strokes are still popular as we can still find good bikes and spares

check the following links, good luck

Hi, sennarossi good to see a person though having access to super bikes still loving the old and faithful Indian two stroke. I don't think finding spare parts for atleast Suzuki is difficult, exotic bikes like Shogun, Shaolin should be available, around a year ago my friends Suzuki Fiero (Initial model) met with a minor accident and lost it's ferring/headlamp cowl and other plastic parts the show room guys booked it for him and delivered it later, unfortunately that show room is closed now. I am sure if you approach showrooms like City Sales at narayanguda and other places they should be helpful. They will put an indent to procure parts from chennai. Try out dude .

I know they should be quite difficult to procure but I'm hoping to find them before I leave India. Thanks for those references, anyway :)

Thank you. I could never lose the faith in imperious Bikes such as Shogun or RX100 because I truly love them and it's a fact that they were the best in their times. It's a funny feeling to experience riding a 999cc regularly there and riding the Shogun in India. Honestly, I still regret (sometimes) for selling my black RX100 but I'll treasure the Shogun for sure :thumbs up

That's the spirit! I'm trying out with various sources (in other cities like Blr too) and I got some time till Dec, 3rd to get the Bike work done. All I could do is keep trying and hope for the best. If anyone knows any info. about a good source across anywhere in India please post here. I really don't mind the cost in procuring the spares. Thanks again.

One question: What Tyres you guys suggest for the Shogun? I'm thinking of Bridgestones, if I could get for Shogun, what say?

Bridgestones are too good for bikes, if u get hold of it bring them over

Try out at Afzal Gunj, you might be lucky. I have never seen Bridgestone tyres for two wheelers it's new to me but would be happy to have it for my bikes as I prefer to move on Bridgestone tyres.

Any one can let us know the website of bridgestone for motorcycle tyres (in india)?

rossi,
If there is any difficulty to find bridgestone then go for michelin. Better results than mrf.

Strangely, Bridgestone tyres for Motorcycles are not available in India :Shockked:
As I planned earlier, I would go with the Michelins.

BTW Alok, MRF has Michelin links in its technology.

Yesterday i found 2 Shogun bore kit at my mechanics place he quoted 3.5K, they are fresh but no pistons.

Dr. Sunil,
Congratulations for your efforts to resurrect one of the finest Indian two strokes.

I Sent you a PM regarding the mechanic, one thing I have learnt the hard way with my shogun, is that you need to have tons of patience with the parts, they are hard to source & they take their own sweet time arriving.. but at the end its so worth it.

Also there are a lot of wannabes who would dupe you with the parts, so be very very careful while choosing them.
