Yamaha RD350 from Punjab

Hi All,

I present my Friend Jasbir Gill's YAMAHA 350. this was bought in March 2009 for a very decent price when looked at the condition. this bike has been redone before we bought. but the thing is Gill was not satisfied with this

The bike has not been used since April 2009 till 17th of this month. It is in Delhi with me and the bike will start aall new journey. i have still to see the bike tomorrow and pick it up from the transport to take it to Noida.

Mr. Sumit Mehndiratta would be doing the works on the bike.

I am attaching some photos that are from the time we Rode the bike from Ludhiana to Muktsar. ride was flawless.

Enjoy. will try to post as much as i can.

thanks all.

The bike looks to be in good shape cosmetically, DD! Those LT pipes look good with just a few scars!!
What does the future hold for this machine? What have you'll planned to do to it?
Is Sumit the chap from speedways?

hi the bike is still in a good shape after one year of storage. The plan is simple to make it look good and to make it to ride good. Yes sumit is the speedways guy. Will be getting disks and alloys for this bike

Hey, just curious as to why the bike has white numbers on a black # plate? Shouldnt it be the other way around?

What pistons and barrels are you running and is it a LT or a HT ? Alloys is a personal choice but i feel nothing beats stock rims on the RD.

Thanks Gordon, Sleeved means the Bore's that have been reinserted with a new BORE. and the unsleeved are the factory ones

To be true with you Akshay, no clue what is it running on. i have not even been able to start the bike. and you would get the ride only if you are in delhi or if the bike is in Chandigarh. i am sure the first one is possible.

Thanks
the UGK has to go, we are going to try and get a NOC and get the registration changed and we will try to get PB-30-*- 0350 or PB-30-*- 0001 or PB-30-*- 8585.

Today we opened up the engine and i was shocked and came to know the reality. i am sure most of the punjab RD have the same state.

1: The pistons are fake TKR. one can tell by the build quality.
2: CON RODS are some NEELKANTH brand. i am sure they are something local until and unless some INDIAN went to Japan and did some naughty hanky panky.
3: MY rd's one barrel was full with water that made sure that most of that side was rusted.
4: One of the carbs is serious damaged.
5: Most of the electricals are from Bullet.
A lot more but i will stop now.
Will post some pics in some time

Desi,

As a fellow owner of RD 350, I sincerely hope that you/your friend is not in for many more shocks.

Something is not right in the story of this bike

The black letter on white plate became the norm sometime in 1999 or 2000 if I am not mistaken. How did this bike remain with a white on black plate until now.

To me that alone would have started the alarm bells and I would not buy the story that it was in use until 2008-09.

Anyway cosmetically it appears to be in good condition and Sumit can get it up to performance I am sure.

All the best!

Best Regards & Ride/Drive Safe

Ram

Beleive me your concern is not a concern in Punjab. we still have may a bikes and cars that still run on the black plates. cause its kool to show off the power that the police cannt do anything about you. so thats nothing to worry about and i am not even worried about it.
