Its always stunters choice ... Any idea about final pricing?

Hence, the price will be 1 lakh plus. (And not 2L!). Furthermore, it makes just around 15bhp from the 125cc mill! However, it is also very lightweight at just 118 kgs!

re: Scoop: KTM Duke 200 caught testing in India!

Hey guys!
First post on BHP, although I've lurked for the last month since I joined, trying to get up to speed on the India vehicle situation. I've come from the USA where I own a KTM 950 Adventure bike, so I'm pretty familiar with the brand, but that isn't the main reason that I'm excited to see this bike being introduced here. Let me 'splain: while running around B'lore a bunch, and then getting to go out into the tribal areas, villages, and other Southern cities too, I began to get a clear picture of what kind of bike that I wanted to have, even if I had to build it. I saw a 'Supermoto' style bike as the real answer to traffic, due to the dirt bike stance, 'flick-ability' (maneuverable), and mainly, Suspension which would soak up all the pot holes and other assorted land mines awaited the unwary rider. Problem was that there wasn't a dirt bike to be found to build this dream upon. So this Duke is close enough to the whole concept of a supermoto that I won't need to hassle with the whole project-yay!

One thing that I have not seen addressed in any of the postings Anywhere that I have read regarding this Indian introduction by KTM/Bajaj, and also what people don't generally know about these KTM bikes, and this has to do with the PARTS that they put onto their bikes right out of the factory, which are top-drawer. If you'll read up on different dirt bike forms from around the world you'll see this as a common denominator, that as other brands you'll inevitably end up replacining bits like handlebars, drive chains, wheels, shocks/struts/suspension, etc., on a KTM you're good to go race straight from the showroom floor. Another words, you get what you pay for. This bike will be widely seen one day, I suspect, as The Bike that changed the biking scene in India!

I'll try to post a pic, but I'm this will be a first from my iPad, so don't be too disappointed if I fail: [/IMG][/IMG]

this baby looks stocky enough to be a 200! a 200 is on the cards as well from KTM! The title in OD is that it most likely be a 200

Being an fz owner I shouldn't be saying this, maybe a fz resembles a KTM but a KTM looks like none other. Literally!

It would be a grave mistake to put in a 125 cc engine. That is something for Europe driven by license laws. Existing pulsar engines from 180 -220 would be perfect.

Same here. I own an FZ too as I couldnt locate a better second bike after my RX. But hey, this beauty has surely knocked me off. Was eagerly waiting for it since long. So finally my 3rd bike has arrived.

Rajiv Bajaj has mentioned during an interview that it will be launched by end of this year! As per the latest rumour in another forum, bike will be launched in 6 months time, at a price tag around 1.25 lakhs!

Some more spy pics!

re: Scoop: KTM Duke 200 caught testing in India!

hmmm nice bike , but i am not really impressed seeing the picture above. blame it on bad picture quality but my first thoughts were - The bike looks like a glorified Pulsar , the lines i mean . Waiting to read a ride review or test ride it myself, but im skeptical of a 125cc 4stroke , setting the hearts of power hungry riders on fire ... but then that is what alot of us thought about the R15 as well , its refined engine , gearing , chassis and cycle parts made it a winner specially at the track..will the KTM do the same ? it should .

RC Cruiser has got it spot on , on the supermoto need here. Id rather buy a DT200 or supermoto a YZ250. the YZ would be so much fun, it would be illegal. another option getting a Husky sm 610 . We need big bore bikes in India , enough of this 100cc 150cc non sense. I appreciate the advance in cycle parts that the newer bikes have but the power and torque figures arnt moving up as fast as I would like it to ....

How many here think the engine in that above picture looks bigger then a 125?

Quite surprised you say that.

The Trellis frame, the big radiator, the engine, give it quite a presence.

Well if u look at the tail , grab rail , tank and the tank extensions it is very much like the pulsar seriers, thats why i said lines.

and on the engine looking larger than 125cc , even i felt that way too , lbut i checked out some vids on youtube and this is exactly how the KTM Duke 125 looks . check em out ...
