I'm a big fan of retro rides. That also explains why I want to buy a cool old bike and refurbish it.

CBZ and Pulsar in the list now.
Well,in that case i would recommend,try your hands on a Decent P180.
i am not sure about the resale values there, but for 30K ,here you can even pick up a Zma in fairly decent condition.

Perfectfluke, you being from kollam i am surprised you dont own a bike. Everybody well almost, has a bike there . Any ways, you will not find anything other than a cd 100 for that money, its for the same reason i mentioned, you are from kollam and bikes are verymuch in demand. What you can do is you can visit karunagapally and look for a bike with those used bike dealers. You will never get an rx 100, no matter in what condition for less than 20k. Shogun and shaolin will also cost you above 15k and trust me you buy one you will not get spares. if you seriously want a bike cheap and good looking start looking for pre 2k CBZ, it will come less than 20k but will demand restoration. same goes with its bajaj counterparts but they will be in far worse situation.

Re: Used bike for Rs. 10,000?

Well the 10K limit is too low to get yourself a problem free ride. All you are going to end up with is a trashed bike which will make you sit in the mechanic shop.
You will get what you pay for.
Well refurbishing is a good way to get at, but that that's again going to cost you money.
Pulsar is a better bike than a CBZ to redo.
So go for it, but my opinion is you will eventually end up spending up to a min of 20K to get a decent ride and that too after wasting a lot of your precious time.

Re: Used bike for Rs. 10,000?

Reminds me of a saying "Pay peanuts, get monkeys".

At least a Pulsar would be good to learn and keep when ur girlfriend wants to learn and cheap to maintain as well. Older bikes have maintenance issues and procuring parts becomes a headache unless u r a grease monkey and happy to spend weekends running behind spares rather than ride around with peace of mind.

Re: Used bike for Rs. 10,000?

Paid Rs 4,500 for it. Surprsingly, engine is in good condition, bike sounds smooth and rides welll. Need to modify the exterior - paint job, meter, head light, tires, brakes, seat and shocks Everything else fine is suppose. So yeah, good deal.

for 10k you can go for RX-100 if you're able to find one in condition. your priority is 2 stroke otherwise their are options like TVS victor, cd 100 and so on. you can get a 2 stroke scooter like chetak for sure in good condition.
