Fazer 250

Check them out guy's ............. Any comments ?

Face of Yamaha India-led exclusively to Bike INDIA! Though we had Jawa/Yezdi 250S in India in the past, manufacturers have been shying away from full-scale 250CC machines ever since then! We've had I80cc Bajaj Pulsars and 223CC Hero Honda Karizmas, but not a full-blown 250, which is what Yamaha India is now set to let loose on Indian turf. Plans are on the anvil to launch two new, fuel¬injected, high-tech motorcycles in India - a sporty 250 and a vety stylish 150. Both these machines will be on display at the Auto Expo in Delhi this month, so it's no pipe dream, though the exact date of launch is yet a closely guarded secret.

Fule injected engine, which makes 22PS at 7500rpm, the Fazer 250 is a versatile bike that can handle the cut and thrust of city traffic, can be used as an inexpensive and reliable mode of transport for daily commuting and can even be used for a bit of corner¬carving on Sundays. Style-wise, the bike's chunky, 19-1itre fuel tank and large-ish silencer lend some substance to the package. The design is certainly contemporary, if not ground-breaking. Yamaha have paid a lot of attention to ergonomics and the bike is said to be plush and comfortable. Whether it's
the daily commute to office, or going shopping with the wife/girlfriend, or going out riding in the twisties with your mates, the Fazer 250 is suitably equipped to handle all such duties.

Ahhhhh ..... at last. And RX, you said it. LOL. The only piece of info that is missing is the price. That might be a dampener.

It has to be ex-showroom, but even at that price it should be a steal for a fuel injected 250, and remember its a yamaha so quality is guaranteed.

What makes you think so? Pulsar 150 is 13.3 bhp. Pulsar 180 is 15+ bhp. Extrapolating the logic, Pulsar 250 will be somehwere near 18-20 bhp. Or, is Pulsar 250 confirmed to give more than 22? Alright, let me admit it, I am itching to see Yamaha reclaiming that performance throne back. It's time they get rid of portfolio, which right now boasts(??) Crux-A/B/C/D whatever.

Fash, if the price is ex-showroom, the on road will be coming to the near 1L mark which is a psychological barrier. I wouldn't want that to happen because as RX quite rightly put it, I too -

Like him, I too own a 135. LOL. And I just hated the Yamaha 4 stroke sissies. Crux? Yucks!

I guess the pulsar 250 ( or whatever it is called ) will most likely be a v-twin. Or atleast that is what I heard. If that is the case, then Bajaj might be able to squeeze more than 20 bhp from it.

Edit - My mistake. The bajaj 250 is not a twin. But if it does put out 22 bhp plus, I am all the more happy

Well, in the looks department, no way. But let us wait for them on the track. My gut feel is that even if the Pulsar beats the Yammie on the straights, it will be caught s*itting on the curves. That is where the Yamaha rules. And the quality of the Yam will be better I guess.
