Re: Fun-to-Ride Motorcycle for 75K!

Congratulations ACE. It sure is one of the Best bikes in the country. Which model and color is it? Which OE tires come with it? Any corporate discounts? Does it run through a Carb or FI?

OK, I did not have those many questions in my mind when I clicked on the Reply button. You could answer them here or in your Ownership thread.

Yamaha FZ16 - Apache 160cc RTR- Dilema

Hello Bhpians,

I have been offered either a Yamaha FZ16 or an Apache 160cc RTR for a rewards program.

I have no need for the bike as of now and asked them to give me a cash discount instead, which the company does not allow. So I do not have an option than take the bike and resell.

Which one would you recommend I should opt for that can fetch me a better resale value immediately?

Thanks in advance.

Both would go for similar prices albeit, you might get a few thousands more for the RTR160. This is because, the FZ is notorious as a low kmpl bike and the people when buying used (I know yours will not be used but still...) try to bargain hard based on this fact. Also check which bike is preferred in your place based on a quick survey with your contacts and choose that one.

Thanks for the reply. I asked around and the FZ has more buyers.

Stay away from the RTR!

TVS does not have a good resale market.

Yamaha reliability, on the other hand, is famed. The FZ should be a quick flip!
