Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

Hi freinds,

Today with great effort I located a person Mr. Rakesh who makes wooden woofer boxes, rear parcel trays etc . He has a small factory on JVLR near Durga Nagar, Fantasyland.Buy directly from him instead of going to those fancy shops.

This person is very humble and very reasonable, I got my large woofer box modified by cutting its height and refixing it, I also got good quality rear parcel tray with all for Rs.400/-

He can be contacted on 09820202859.

I have told him that we guys will call and visit you so be reasonable with all of them ,You may quote my name IQBAL SINGH. who came to him in ALTO K10 . Regards

Very useful contact, Iqbal. Thank you for sharing!

I've moved your thread to the Team-BHP Directory, as more people would be likely to search for providers in here. Of course, I've left a redirect to this thread in the ICE section too.

Would you please upload pictures of the sub-woofer box & parcel tray here?

Great find Iqbalpaaji. Do you know if he has a branch/ knows someone who does this in Pune too? How did you manage to find him? Your investigative leads could be useful so we can conduct a similar search in Pune too!

If not available in Pune, I will try to peep in when I drive to Mumbai sometime in May/ June. Sorry to be a bit basic but where exactly is Durga Nagar and how can I get there?

Yes Sir, I will, infact I will also post photos of ICE being installed on my new Superior white Alto K10 on sunday.
This ICE is being refitted for 3rd time in my third vehicle, I allways remove it carefully and it is done by Mohamud Bhai before selling the car and reinstall it in new vehicle,

Next in line information is a guy named MOHAMUD, he is again a simple guy located opposit Indian Oi Nagar Andheri. He is a super specialist in repairs of all AMLIFIERS, ICE,SPEAKERS etc etc etc.He has a very simple setup and shop.

He is very reasonable in rates, at times tuning your amps, resetting and also nick nack jobs he never charges.
He is located next to the Yamaha Motorcycle Showroom opp Indian Oil Nagar.
His cell No. is 09869151582.You all can quote my name Iqbal Singh when you go to him he will give more better and quick service apart from being reasonable.
I may post his and his shop photos on Sunday.
Regards......

My dear Sir, Please come down to amchi mumbai for a day and call him before and tell him that you what and what you need he will do it, infact he will fix the parcel tray,in less then 2 min.
If you have original pacel tray, which he is verymuch against using, and dont want to part with it then he will cut speaker galas for you.
Now the location ,Pls Take western express highway ,cross Andheri drive towards jogeshwari then turn right for JVLR , keep driving till you see MMRDA colony gate in Durga Nagar on your right , bang opposit there is a tyre shop. stop there and call him on his cell he will emerge in lesss then 1 min and meet you.
How I found him it is again my freind Mohumad Bhai who told me to go to him and nowherelse.Regards.......

Re: Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

As promised for today, I was at Mohamud Bhai's place for installation of ICE in my new ALTO K10.
I gave them some new ideas from my own experience.
*Fix the both rear speakers as well as Woofer wires through male female connector so as and when I need my Boot fully I will just disconnect them remove woofer box, and parcel tray in just minutes and same way reconnect them as my boot requirement is over.
*After installation was over and all screws fitted I applied few drops of Feviquick on the 2 screws holding the full plastic cover of the CD player , it will not be easy to just unscrew them .. incase of theft.
I used all my old stuff in the installation and whole instalation was over in three hrs, that included some small repair to the Amp.

Pls find original parcel tray photo kept out side the car, which is useless now for me ,if any ALTO owner needs it pls PM me for the same , its brand new and without any slots cut for the speakers.

It is unbleavable that full system .Viz. CD player, Amp, Speakers,Woofer, Wiring is around 9 years old.same is working superbly till today and has been transfered to car to car which I brought and sold during the period.

Mohamud bhai asked for 500/- in all for entire installation job inclusive of Amp repaire . Pls see the photographs of the place, and , work being carried out, and he himself sitting in his shop. At that moment he said to me that someone called for Blaupunkt Deck repaires from TBHP member and he is on his way from Borivili. I said Best of luck .

Well, that was me.

I went to him, quoted your name (he remembers you as Iqbal the Sardarji)

He opened my Blaupunkt kingston unit, cleaned it and it was working. However the IC for the CD controller was burnt due to water and needs to be replaced. I can still run the USB, FM and AUX. He did things quickly and charged me Rs. 100 since he didn't change the CD controller (he suggested that I don't repair since it is around Rs. 1200 and pretty pointless since I use USB most of the time)

One small issue though: The CD eject mechanism keeps running on all the time. I need to fix it. Shall call him and go to him again, because today when I went back around 4pm, he had left for the day.

Overall, he's a good and honest guy. He does the job quickly and is pretty professional. He's got a huge collection of head units, God knows why he collects them... But due to his quick work, certain details like the ejector mechanism in my case, seem to be left out. Let me go again to him and see how it goes.

Re: Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

Yes, you provided me Muhameds' number in the other thread hence I decided to call him at short notice and went there, everything was decided today around 2pm The only time I get during the week for the car is on weekends and Saturday largely goes on recuperating.

I'll PM you and give me your number and we can catch up and share best practices. It's pretty difficult to find honest mechanics and auto parts repairers these days..

Re: Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

Update: I went to Mohamud's place around noon today. He fixed the player and disconnected the CD mechanism. The USB and radio works perfectly, and that's what I use and require. He didn't charge me anything to rectify the problem. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the VFM fix and shall definitely recommend him to others in the forum as well. He's an expert in his work and charges are down to earth. A very rare combination to find these days...

Thanks for the directions Iqbalji, will do my best to visit him when we come to Mumbai next. Somehow it keeps getting postponed :(
The parcel tray looks fabulous in the pics and there is no way one can say it was made outside.

Re: Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

Bumping an old thread. My 9 year old parcel tray is totally gone and I thought of getting in touch with Rakesh but the number posted is out of service.

Anyone have his latest contact info?

Thank you. Would be great if I can get in touch with him. I went to the jvlr location a few days ago & realised he no longer works there. Another store by the name of Arihant accessories is around. I wonder if anyone has used his services?

Re: Rear Parcel Trays & Subwoofer Boxes - Rakesh (Mumbai)

I went to an accessories shop (cannot remember the exact name) in nearly the exact same place where the old one mentioned in the thread used to be.

It is on JVLR just after the Oberoi Splendour gas station heading towards Powai.
The job was fairly well done on my Swift.
