Folks! Volvo has launched sporty R-Design styled S60.

The R-Design adds visual flair to these cars by way of exterior and interior enhancements. On the outside, these cars come finished in a Passion Red color with silver wing mirror housings. The front fascia receives a new grille element with a honeycomb structure, while the sides get 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The rear sees a chrome finish for the tailpipes and a diffuser-like element on the rear bumper.

My S60 DIM stopped giving the audio alarms and now only the visual indications work.
The Volvo ASS is telling me to renew the part, which obviously doesn't come cheap.

I thought that I will seek help here first before doing anything else.
Anyone who is technically inclined or familiar with similar systems, please advise.

I can see many instrument cluster repairs facilities abroad.
Please PM me if anyone knows any repair facilities in India for the clusters.

I am looking at the cost of a small car for a new cluster.

Volvo Service head, Kochi has informed me today after a detailed discussion on their end, that they have decided to replace the DIM free of cost.
I had taken it up with the management of Volvo Cars India.
This is befitting the standard that I wish to see from a responsible manufacturer.

Was your car out of warranty? What made Volvo finally decide to replace it for free if otherwise?

The car is out of warranty.

I have been in touch with Volvo for a while regarding this matter.
I must say that the way the issue has been resolved finally is like a manufacturer of a Premium/ Luxury car.

They mentioned the following points when they informed me about the replacement offer.
1. I have been their regular customer and recently also visited them for the fitment of some accessories.
2. The car has been having the regular visits/ services in the past at various Volvo Service centers.
