And we here we go again.
After Honda Jazzed everyone (prospective owners in happy and older owners in not so happy way), here comes the Beat with this pricing.

Let the Royal Rumble Part-2 Begin.

Anyone checked the On road prices in Bangalore ?

So that's about a 70,000 odd premium over equivalent petrol variants of the Beat. Not bad, I expected a mid-60,000 difference....was off by 10 - 15 grand, but I still think that the entry + mid variants make for super VFM. Refer to comparison sheet.

Equally, the higher end variants are over-priced vis a vis the competition. Rather go for the 4 cylinder competition. There, the Ritz & Figo pose a far better value proposition.

I think the base & variant no.2 will fly off shelves.

Take a look at this comparo, the Beat diesel starts CHEAPER than even the outdated, crude Indica diesel!!

Thanks to Stratos for sharing this price comparo. Note that Swift has been discontinued:

Add around 65-70 k more to the above mentioned ex-showroom prices for bangalore.

LT will come to around 5.4 L OTR delhi while in Bangalore it will cost around 5.65 Lakhs

Entry & mid-variants will make for great work-horses. Top + option pack are pricier than expected.

Considering 5-6k difference between delhi and bangalore, BEAT LS will be 4.65 ex showrrom here in Bangalore.

On road after adding 14.4% and insurance and RTO charges it will be 548000 or 549000.

Killer pricing to me. Not sure who is being killed though.:D

On the price comparison tab, I could not understand the reason why Beat diesel LT is being compared to FIGO Titanium and LT(O) being compared to ZXI. Could you shed some light for that GTO? The Figo ZXI i just checked doesnt have a ABS.

http://www.ecardlr.com/NewCar/Compar...-Titanium.aspx

Now the only reason not to buy this car will be to save oneself from projecting an image of 'Cheapest' of the lot :)

Mid variant seems the sweetest of all. Lets see what are the features on it. Would have loved ABS at that price.

Indica is so not gonna sell now. God only save the Tata cars.

Cheers

Good pricing. Its about 20% premium over its petrol counter parts though I expected a max 15%. Guess it might take some shares from Ritz / Figo. Don't think Swift will have any threat from this car. Will need to see how much does the Indian market HUG this car.

Is Beat Rugged enough to work as taxi?
I hope not because then with that FE and price, Taxi operators will be interested.
The Lack of juice at higher rpm will not matter to them I guess.

Good pricing, although i would disagree with the Beat hurting EV2 sales part. The EV2 caters to the Taxi segment, and that segment wants space, easy service & mileage - all what the EV2 offers. The Beat is too small to become a Taxi.

Private buyers though who were considering the EV2 will now look at the Beat.

Well i would still put my money on the Figo. The prices are really good, but figo takes on the beat on the amount of space and gadgets it offers. Having said that, Yes i would surely buy Beat over Maruti Ritz, Indica and Micra !

Kudos GM for pricing this just right for the Indian markets ! This ones sure going to create a buzz just like the one done by the lil sparky !

But the folks at Tata Motors think it is!
Today's newspapers have a half-page ads for eV2 with big bold heading saying "UNBEATABLE" and the letters BEAT highlighted.:)

Awesoome pricing by GM. I am so happy today :) I don't know. All my hopes of manufacturers getting sensible slowly and steadily were dashed after the new Fiesta pricing was revealed. I am getting that hope back. I would have bought one in minutes had I been looking to buy a car now. Figo and Beat have redefined pricing in our market. Fiesta too but in a foolish way.

All eyes on the Beat.

oops.. no AT option available !!! Looks like Astar and i10 are the only AT variants available in the small hatch category !!!
