Avoid the A/C disinfectant. Many Jetta owners including me have ended up with broken A/C vents post this.

But do not skip changing the pollen filter for the A/C. There is a very good chance that it needs changing along with the other consumables such as oil and air filters.

Suspension lubrication should be applied. I have felt a marked difference in ride post this and suspension travel is much smoother.

Changing these consumables along with the oil itself and coolant will ensure that your FE is back to normal. Low FE is a sign of a blocked air filter. I usually trust the service centre with the wheel balancing and alignment but if you have a trusted workshop for the same, get it done there. Will be much cheaper.

VW Whitefield in Bangalore had a HL dsg silver 2015 manufacture
VW Palace Cross in Bangalore had HL manual 2015 manufacture

In Mysore they have a HL DSG silk blue demo car
generally , the top end dsg is used as demo cars, not the manual versions.

I suggest you change your insurance from comprehensive to zero dep ASAP.

Second that. Jetta parts are expensive and totally makes sense to buy Zero dep

I suggest to include consumable & hydrostatic lock addon as well
Consumables are expensive for Jetta as well. Hydrostatic lock addon is a must for German cars in most parts of our country.

Battery kaput or something else?

So my 2015 Jetta TDI AT has acted funny this morning. Here is he series of events:

- Unlocked the car and sat inside.
- Turned on the ignition. Everything normal.
- Tried to start the car and the power totally shut off. I though this would be a loose connection at the battery terminal but everything was ok there.
- With the key still turned to the 'ignition ON' position, I noticed the MID come on (all other lights on the dash were off) and the roof light slowly flicker a bit and come on.
- Tried to start the car again and all power shuts off.

Called up VW and they said it could be the battery that has failed.

Now, I have been using the car at least for 3 days a week(I alternate between my Polo & Jetta) and drove the Jetta just yesterday for a good 40 kms and so surprised that the battery is totally drained out today.

Is this just a freak battery cell failure issue or could there be more to it?

Looks like battery fail. If it is not under warranty - just call your local Amaron dealer and get it replaced.

This is a battery failure. I have experienced this twice. First the battery failed in about 15 months, and was replaced under warranty. Then the replaced one also failed again in just about 16 months, and I replaced it with Amaron. Details can be found in the below posts in my ownership thread.

Thank you Ethan and Graaja for the inputs. Well one thing is for sure; the Varta OEM batteries have a ridiculously short life span - 02 years tops. My 2011 Polo 1.6 came with a Varta too which failed within 02 years of use. My 2015 Jetta has faced the same fate.

I had replaced the Varta in my Polo to Amaron and never had any issues till date. I guess I will have to do the same with the Jetta too.

@graaja - I noted that the Amaron battery is a little too big to fit in the battery case in the Jetta. Looks a bit shabby & out of place don't you think?

Yes. The battery is a little long to fit the OE cover, and the green color definitely makes it look out of place. But I think as it is inside the engine bay and not visible, it is a small price to pay for the reliability.

Can't have that "getting stranded" situations often due to those bad OE batteries.
