Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

What a boring launch.
No updates, just an endless screensaver kind of screen.

No pricing, no model info ...zilch nada.

- 4.29 lakhs ex-showroom for the Brio S, and

- 4.79 lakhs ex-showroom for the top-end Brio V.

I would hike the price up marginally, once it starts selling though. But that would be wishful thinking now.

I expect the Brio to be priced between 4-5.5 lakhs ex-showroom. They cannot afford to let the prices overlap with the Jazz, which is now at 5.5-5.7 thereabouts. The Brio is a full scale smaller than the Jazz, so they should price it accordingly. If Honda wants this product to do really well, then the base Brio MUST be a few thousands below 4 lakhs, especially after the ongoing hike in petrol prices.
I seemed to have hit the bulls-eye with my predictions, well, almost!

The base Brio E will be priced @ 3.9 ex-showroom, the S @ 4.3, the S(o) @ 4.9 and the top-end V would be priced a shade above 5 lakhs! Excellent pricing by Honda. they've managed to achieve the target and have priced it very very well. At 3.9 lakhs ex-showroom, the Brio is fantastic product. And now that it is slightly below 4 lakhs, curtomers would be even more tempted to check it out!

Great job, Honda!

I recommend the S(o), for those who are looking to buy the Brio. The V comes with alloys and beige carpets et al. So the S(o) makes more sense to me. Save around 20k and up-size the wheels and tyres instead. You get most of the bells and whistles in the S(o) anyway, including Airbags and ABS.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Pricing is mostly on expected lines although I thought it would be directly competing with the WagonR prices..
Wonder why the S-Opt is so close to the V.. For 20K more, you get "top end"!

Nevertheless, Honda has entered the mass market in style! They need to triple their showroom/service centers for super success..

Any mention or a roadmap of a diesel motor (for the entire model-line)?
