Congratulations. What deals did you get?
Thank you! The car has been delivered yesterday and I have got hardly any deal in comparision with yours. 3k cash discount + 2k accessories is what I have got.

Here is one picture of the car upon delivery, getting pampered at 3M!!

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Dear Brio Owners,

Looking to book a Brio soon. Some questions which i would like some answers:

1. What are the service interval and approximate service costs of the Brio ?
2. Any discounts/offers that can be had in Bangalore?
3. Any pointers to how to decode the VIN number of the Brio ?
4. Is the "exclusive" SMT model still on sale?

regards.

Service Intervals - Once in 6 months (10K). Most fluids except engine oil have very long operating life. Part replacement as part of regular maintainence should be less.
Discounts - None. Both Magnum and Dakshin said no offers on Brio

Yes I tried the same and found this to be effective. Though the smell hasn't gone completely, I have got some relief.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Today Morning I gave my 9 month old Brio for a 3 month check up at Trivandrum Peninsular Honda. They said their would be a full check up including oil top ups if necessary and body wash.
Wondering how much they are gonna charge.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Hi,

I just gave my Brio for 2yrs service (22,000 kms) on the Odo. The service guy added the following:
Sensor recalibrating/cleaning for Rs.2800,
AC disinfectant for Rs. 800.
The engine oil costs come to Rs.3000.
Wheel balancing is Rs. 1100.
Air filter & Oil Filter Rs. 800
Labor Rs.1500
Estimated bill is Rs10,500
I declined the sensor recalibrating stuff and AC disinfectant. I have a doubt if engine oil change would cost Rs.3000. Folks here please advice. I am paying Rs.2700-3000 for engine oil change every 6 months service. Am i paying too much?

You should get wheel balancing also done outside. The bill is TOO HIGH for a budget hatchback. Even the oil cost seems to be high. That's almost what a Swift D's (3.1L) synthetic oil costs.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

@whencut86; With synthetic oil change is every 12 months or 10,000km. Out of warranty I will be quite happy with 15 months /15.000km.

I will skip everything but for the filters and oil.

I am quite happy with semi-synth oil and six month change as specified. There are umpteen semi oils which are API-SL or higher. Out of warranty it may become 12 months / 8,000km with semi-synth. I do not do more than 8000pa.

I have a 2010 City A/T. The last service was done about 15 days back with the odo at 69K. Total bill came to Rs.6,500. The amount for Brio seems too high to me.

Daylight robbery!. Oil change for my Brio (done in Feb'14) was some 1200/- rupees or so. Even my SA tried hard to sell me Throttle body cleaning, Battery service etc... I told him to strictly stick to the Honda schedule and show me what is written for 1 year/6k old Brio? He then backed off! I showed him my "LTD" sticker on the boot and told him to remember me in future

What is sensor recalibration for 2years 22k old car?

My final bill came to Rs.6319.

Labor - 2000 approx

Brio Oil change of Rs.1200? Is it mineral oil or semi-synth? Guess I won't do an oil change for one year.

9 month?? I think Brio is 1,3,5 and then every six months /10,000km, so where does the 9 month come in? Old habits die hard.

6 months is a crazy schedule isnt it? It should be 12 at least. For a petrol car owner, driving more than 1500 is heavy on the pocket, might as well go for a diesel.
