There is no change in the prices on the website as of now. Also, i don't see any news/official announcement on the internet. If possible, can you please share the contents of the mail and did you get this mail from M&M.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Talking about price increase and discounts, I was offered W8 with 1st year free insurance and some more discount which worked out to total 58K less on the final OTR cost. The SA was willing to offer me price protection despite the price increase if I were to book yesterday (1st October) by paying at least 25-30% of the total cost as booking amount since he had a White W8 in stock. After I mentioned that I won't be able to take the delivery before 15th of this month even if I book it today, he said the price I would be paying at the time of delivery will be as per the old price. Not sure how true was that.

Having said that, the final OTR cost after all discounts was amounting to 15.44L which IMO was a gr8 deal but some other immediate investments meant that I had to let go of the deal

20k increase on the W8 FWD and AWD ex-showroom in Bangalore. Will translate to a larger delta on the on-road price.

It's a 20k increase on W8 model across all cities. Also, I called um M&M helpline and they said that price prevalent at the time of delivery has to be paid.

Yes the price hike is official now. Got a call from SA in Delhi and he has confirmed an increase of 20-25k! All the negotiations gone for a toss.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Dear BHPians

i had a small query regarding the car care package that these dealers recommend. Please suggest which of the below items is a must for XUV:

1.Upper body paint protection
2.Under Body Paint Protection
3.Engine PU coating
4.Silencer coating

Since no films allowed in car what are the other alternatives one can opt for to keep away heat and sun without making it look cheap. The flimsy roadside items are a big hit though

Also have heard a lot about the 3D Kagu floor mats. are they worth it? Because the showroom is offering only the Deziner mats in rubber or Transparent ( which of these is a better bet?) Also the showroom guys wont fit the 3D mats even if we purchase from outside. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can try Wurth or 3M for under body coating. Normally vehicle does not need any upper body protection for 1st 6 to 12 months. I had gone only for under body(Wurth). Now planning to go for 3M, my vehicle is almost 13 months old.

3D kagu mats are worth it. I bought maxspider 3D mats for 5750/-. It is better to purchase from outside. Laying it is pretty simple.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Booked W8, Tuscan Red.
Delivery in 4- 6 months.

Even I was surprised as to why such a long waiting period.
The SA at India Garage, Chennai told me that the car is produced only as to order and there are no cars with him at stock.

I had a huge confusion to choose the colour.
White and Red were the options I had to choose from, and the beige interiors in the White and its commonality saw me listed to Tuscan red.

Now the wait begins, and the anxiety too

4 to 6 months! Whoa! That is really strange... Have you opted for an AWD? But even then it shouldn't take that long.
