So now M&M would have to give a separate small screen alongwith the sensors or may be just give a audible warning as the car approaches a obstacle behind it.
True, W4 would need a screen for the feed. I think it would be better that people go for after market sensors which even have guiding system. I am sure it would cost less than what M&M would provide from dealer.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Yipee... first set of niggles on my XUV.

Ok not so funny.

Two things that have possibly gone wrong:

1) Bonnet open alert keeps popping up - probable known issue based on the posts on this thread
2) Rear parking sensors keep beeping as soon as I engage reverse, irrespective of whether there's something behind the vehicle or not. Sometime it works ok. Wierd.

And, is there any way to update the MMI maps?

I'll need to pay the ASC a visit, just few weeks after 1st service. Sigh!

1. The new lot is coming with the words "Mahindra" and "XUV5OO" pasted significantly higher on the hatch door.
2. The "W8" has been moved from right fender to the hatch door.
3. New "Live Young, Live Free" sticker on the rear glass.

Seeing your pics, all the above points seem to be confirmed. Did you notice any other change on the outside or inside?
SDP,
In the niggles thread I came across your post long before about the testing of new brake pedal system. Since then I could not see any mention of whether that design being incorporated into production line. You have any idea whether the new brake pedal design is in production line atleast for this release/version!?

I have not taken a test-ride on a new batch vehicle, but my guess is that the new brake-pedal is already incorporated in the current version.

Please check out the review of the new XUV5OO here:

It does mention about the brakes being better.

So bouncy suspension n this gear slips are haunting me
If the vehicle is coming to a lower gear / neutral on its own then the issue is a serious one. Seems that the retaining rings in the gear box are either broken or defective. I had the same issue with my Scorpio and the gear box had to be replaced.

Please do not take this issue lightly as I narrowly escaped a frontal collision of while overtaking at a speed of around 80 KMPH and my car slipped into neutral and the bus coming from the front just swerved in time to avoid hitting me.
