I always thought that it was free and was part of the purple club deal.
I remember seeing a post regarding this few pages back.
I guess it was made chargeable service couple of months back for pick up's above certain distance.

Were you able to receive any update on this from your SA ?

Mukhtar motors at Goa is charging for it.
I got a call yesterday from Mahindra Mumbai office to explain the benefits of purple club membership.

In that call they clearly mentioned that pick up and drop service is free.

As mentioned by other BHPian, first service should be around rs. 2500

had my 20K service on 11th, sent the vehicle back to service center (Sireesh Marathahalli) 2 times after that as they coudlnt get the alignment right even after 2 attempts and finally on third attempt after changing the camber bolt, they have managed to get it right

Changed my brakepads (both front and back)at 20K service and they didnt botther to fit it properly resulting in squeaking noise over my weekend travel and had it sent to the SC 2 times first on Monday for removing the foreign particle causing the squeaking noise in the brakes and the correction for left pulling of the tyres. While removing the brake noise, the SC managed to make the brake pads so tight that driving became difficult and they just tightened a bolt instead of correcting the left pulling of the tyres. Sent again on tuesday, they changed the amber bolt, fixed the brake and alignment. Presently it is ok. Time to change the SC

Apart from Sireesh marthahalli,do we have any other SC in East Bangalore ?

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Guys, thought I'll share my experience with my Silver W8, which I bought 2 weeks back. Completed around 1000 km so far.

Positives:

1. The obvious things like space, feel and ride quality.
2. On the Expressway to Pune, loved the features of auto rain sensing wipers, auto lights, and most importantly the cruise control, which is really precise and handy on the highway.
3. I am quite happy with the music system quality as well. I am a big music buff, but not exactly an audiophile. But loved the system. I found the setting "Classic" to be ideal on the music settings.

Negatives so far:

1. I'm getting a creaking sound from behind the dash, maybe from the front suspension...whenever the car goes over a bump. Quite annoying. The technician came and saw and couldn't fix it. Now I've been called to the service center, which I can do only next week.
2. I was expecting a more quiet ride on the highway, but maybe my expectation was wrong. It is as noisy as my previous car, the Swift.
3. I'm finding navigation of music a bit painful on the system. I read somewhere that volume knob can be used for pagination, which would've been very handy. And the system doesn't "remember" the current album being played. It goes right to the top every time you want to change the album.

I think point#2 and #3, are something that I will get used to or can live with, but point #1 needs to be resolved. Overall, I am absolutely thrilled with the beast so far. Gonna be driving to Pune and then Shirdi again next week. Can't wait.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

I'm terribly confused. Infact, I'm stuck. I just cannot make up my mind here.
I've booked the XUV 500 W8, signed papers, even given the token amount. I really do love the car. But I'm afraid of being stranded somewhere in the wild (without help!)

Let me bullet my fears out:
  • Rants of XUV 500 owners - makes it look like the vehicle has to be at the workshop every week!
  • Failed braking experiences - not sure if Mahindra has genuinely sorted this out
  • Niggles - plastic parts, a weak music system and front brake rattle etc
My question is - am I putting my 16 odd lakh in something that would only look good for a while?
I would really like some guidance here!
I'm not quite sure of what I should do

A nice gesture from Koncept Mahindra Okhla. A lady called to inform me that they have waived off these new Pick up and drop fees for me this time.

Go for it. You will not repent your decision. Xuv built pre Nov 2013 had many issues with respect to electricals, brakes etc. Mahindra has fixed all those in Nov 2013. Xuv's that you get these days are free of those defects. It comes with 3 year standard warranty and 2 years extended warranty giving you complete piece of mind.

It is a great vehicle to drive around.

I did my 1st Service there along with some visits for other issue, I have got a mixed experience, they are usually over booked and quality of work e.g. washing is below average.

I would suggest to spend some time at 3m workshop for a good cleaning service once every month or two Atleast.
