Amount paid: 3.6 lakh

so this adds up to about 64k in discounts..

Are you referring to engine noise?
During our short TD, we did not note that aspect, but I guess all small engine cars are quite noisy.

If you are looking for good resale value, go ahead with Alto. EON does not have good enough resale value.

Thanks. I worked backwards on those figures. Your discount for 2013 model comes to 31500.
Since I would not get loyalty bonus, I will skip that part.
So, along with 31500, the free insurance Rs. 12500, comes to Rs. 44000 towards cash discount.
As far as the free accessories are concerned, I don't know the quality of stuff that they have provided, but based on general knowledge, I would value it around Rs. 7000. Out of this, seat covers are worth Rs. 2500 or near-about.

The new Eon is a breeze to drive and the annoying gear vibration has been resolved.

Good idea, but err..small problem being it looks downright ugly and cheap. Inside is a big improvement but not in Eon's league. I think in a year's time both lose around the same value.

^Sebring: I have now contacted the second dealer. Someone will visit us today to discuss the pricing. The earlier dealer offered only 12K instead of 31.5K.
Now, the new dealer has a white 'limited edition'. There is a long list of stuff provided in that one including:
remote locking, rear power windows, leather seat covers, bluetooth, reverse camera, front fogs (not 100% sure) some sticker/ vinyl, and perhaps a few more bits. The offer is instead of 38K, you need to pay 28K for that one. They have a white piece from 2013.

Buddy, while it seems like a mouthwatering deal, do check the vin. While 2013 piece is acceptable, as there are no new updates don't buy a piece that's like eleven months old. Also, for all you know it could be from the previous batches with vibrating gearshifts. Dont miss the wood for the trees.

I was adamant that I get a car which is fresh from the factory. To us that's a big deal. Rest everything can be managed!

The sales lady came. Gave me the same offer as the other dealer, so that was just around 24K total discount. I asked for 31.5K + 12.8K (insurance). She smiled, and packed up.

In addition, the silver car was from September and the white limited edition was for July.

The exchange bonus by the way was 15K, whereas the other dealer mentioned 20K earlier.

Just bought the Eon Magna+ and am pretty happy with the car. I'l use it for a week or two and then update more about it. In the meantime, does anyone know whether Hyundai has removed the CD player from the Music system as I cannot find any in my car :( And I see the CD slot in the music system in each and every picture in the thread. The slot in mine seems to be covered :(

I accompanied a friend to book this eon and overheard the Sales man say a absurd thing, so came back to office/tbhp and check out the real meaning of AMS.

I am rl: now...

He said .... "Sir, In heavy traffic the engine gets cuts off from alternator and the battery/alt alone power the wheels"... I sensed something amiss but didnt want to challenge him without reading this here. He is going to have it tomorrow!!

Brought home an EON Era+ last Saturday to pair with my Innova, for daily use in the city. Been happy with it so far, does the job as promised, and has stunning looks to top it all. Family loves it and chose the Maharaja red color!

Will post a review soon. Worth going for.

I've been extremely happy with my EON ERA+ so far, after taking delivery of the car on 19th July. The best part, looks like Hyundai has completely eliminated gear level vibrations! I was expecting to see them on my car after reading reviews everywhere. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a perfectly static gear lever knob!

There's only one aspect where I want to further improve things - and that is the ride quality. With most Bangalore city roads full of potholes and uneven surfaces, I find the ride quality poor. This might be because I'm used to my other cars - the Innova and Santro.

My questions to the forum are:

1. Can wider tires (potentially with alloys) improve ride? I went through older posts on this topic and found that they should.

2. The stock tire size on my variant (ERA+) is 145/80 R12, and Hyundai sells the higher variants with 155/70 R13 tires as stock. What's the max width I can go up to, without the tires rubbing against wheel arches or any other parts? I guess the rim size will have to be 13 inches.

3. Does anyone have first hand experience with upgrading to wider tires in the EON? If so, what were your results? Did you achieve a softer ride?

4. I'm planning to experiment with the tire pressure a little bit. At the moment, my cold tire pressure in all four wheels is 33 psi, which is what Hyundai recommends for loads up to three adults. With full load, they recommend 36 psi. I'm planning to drop this to 32 psi and check the results, given that I mostly drive alone. Has anyone tried with an even lower tire pressure on the EON, say 30 psi?

I agree the ride is unsettling, so I wrote to Hyundai if I could upsize the rim to 13ers. They have replied in the negative. Since I did not want to mess with suspension setup & warranty I have let the 12 inch be. Even a tyre specialist on the forum suggested I change from Goodyear to Michelin - same spec, for a better ride but keep the size intact (I'm yet to do that). Yeah, keeping tyre pressure at 30-31 helps somewhat.

Thanks for that information Sebring. I dropped my cold tire pressure on all fours to 32 (cold, in the morning). The ride has improved. :) I'm planning to drop it to 31 and check how that feels. Will keep the forum posted. What's the regular pressure you maintain?

Hey. I also found the ride to be too bumpy on my eon era+ after I set the tire pressure to 31 on all wheels. Later lowered them and there has been a significant improvement in ride quality. Now on 28 for front wheels and 27 for rear wheels. Was on an even lower pressure rating before and the ride was even better. I think the recommended 33 psi is only keeping fuel efficiency in mind. Try 26-28 psi.

I used to keep it at 30 and compromise slightly, but the wear and tear on the tyre is higher if its not as per recommendations.
