Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

Skoda service guys cleaned the same Fog logs and its fixed. The problem is resolved now.

With monsoon hitting, I need to change wiper blades on my car, as the blades are producing sound. Skoda SA mentioned 1,800/- for both the wiper blades. Is it really that much?

Found this, Hella Wiper Blades for Skoda Rapid on eBay and it costs 500/- (probably single blade)

Good advise to buy eBay one? Or should I go for Skoda Service Center only?

Edit: Any other Wiper Blades suggestions also welcome.

I need to change them as early as possible.

If I were you I would buy the best for my car.
Like buying and consuming the best food and beverages for the family and wearing the best clothes and accessories, I would follow the same tenet with my car.
Else I would go to a reputed after market accessories store and ask them for the part in question, compare the price and then make a decision.
I prefer to buy brands and from a genuine, reputed store. Unless of course you know the ebay seller or have experienced his stuff before and found it to be good.

Yes, I completely agree with you on this. Price is not much of a concern, however Stock Skoda price, ~2000/- (inc. tax), felt a bit expensive [I know I am talking about Skoda here and their spares cost high]. Also the existing stock Skoda wiper blades have worn-out within 7 months of car purchase. Hence posted this question.

I even wanted to know if someone is using any other better aftermarket product.

I also had posted the same question on "Swift to REMAPPED Skoda Rapid", Kryptonite suggested to check on Bosch bracket-less premium blades.

Guys,

I need a suggestion, I had a look at the Ambition Prestige variant of the skoda rapid TDI.

I am quite impressed with the practicality the car has to offer.

The car is priced at 10.5lakhs on road bangalore, should I go ahead and book the the car or wait for the new car with facelift to launch?

If wait any idea on when it will be launched and will the grill resemble the Mission L Skoda.

What it might be priced at?

Thanks
Chetan

Guys,

Does anyone here know what exactly is the difference between Prestige and Elegance? Based on my findings so far, Prestige seems to have everything that Elegance has, plus some freebies? And still it is priced lower than Elegance?

Thanks!

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

A friend of mine got his headlights replaced with projector lamps. Cut him back by 22k, here are a few pics :

This is the Rapid Prestige with :
1. Projector Lamps
2. Leather seats
And the car came with pretty much the rest.

In totality his OTR was around 1.5L.

Hi,
Do you know where he got the headlights replaced from? Is this an OEM product or an aftermarket product?

Thanks,

Re: Skoda Rapid : Test Drive & Review

The Projector headlights were imported from Germany by Skoda. The dealer offered to replace the standard lights with projector headlights from FABIA SCOUT limited edition model. The lights have exact fit arrangements of the default, and because this is OEM the warranty/guarantee remains intact.

Well, I am scheduled to drop the car there next week. Any feedback on the service center?

I take my car to Oklipuram center only (as it is near to my house as-well). SA's are good. Only thing I did not like is their washing.

Two things I get it done outside,
1. Washing --> 3M Car Care (either at RMV 2nd Stage or HSR)
2. Wheel balancing/alignment --> Madhus Enterprise

Rest I am pretty much satisfied with their service. Every time I visit, I make sure I am next to my car (atleast it helps me learn something new of my car ). My car is scheduled for 22,500 kms Check-up and will be going there tomorrow (Saturday).

I usually talk to Lokesh there and he is quite knowledgeable [I feel]. He is also aware of TBHP

Hope this helps!

That is the golden rule to be satisfied with service, always. One should be able to take out at least 1 day in a year for their beloved vehicles so that they remain satisfied in the long run. If more people start following this rule, the numbers of service quibblers would diminish substantially.
